I was there on Tuesday night. Real feel of 103 and sold out. The weather was brutal- but you'd hardly know it- place was jumpin'.
Over the series both teams made great plays ( Rojas and Taylor last night) and both made egregious errors (Harper last night and Dodger CF in game 2).
Those are unlikely to repeat themselves. In the postseason pitching is key. The Dodgers will add back gamechangers moreso than us.
Just enjoying the ride- but as earlier poster said- don't get to high or low. The Playoffs take on a life of their own. We have been spoilers- and been spoiled (last year NLCS still hurts).

Bottom of the eighth bases loaded 4-1 Phils. Ball hit in the exact worst spot for an easy double play. Those breaks will disappear. Phil's pitcher somehow I think getting Shohei, Will Smith and Freddy to strike out after Lux homer. Pages just loses a sure out which was the difference in the game. I think Rojas just overuns the base. And this off the top of my head. I'd say the Dodgers kind of blew the last couple of games of the series. Not saying they were going win both on Wednesday and Thursday but they did everything they could to lose both.
The Phillies sweep the Dodgers for the first time in a long time and you can't even enjoy it?

Yeah that must be it. Have XM radio and listen to broadcasters for all teams. No broadcasting team whines more about balls and strikes than the Phils’ radio team except for when there are questionable calls for the other teams.

what are Phillies fans thoughts on them trading Lane Thomas? Kid has a really good stat line and is third in the league in steals. Guardos gave up some good prospects but would probably have lost some of them due to rule 5 and limited roster protections. Guardos are stacked in the minor leagues and had the overall #1 pick this year.
Have watched a number of Washington National games (part of my cable sports package) and been impressed with him. He has a mixture of power and speed and is an excellent defensive outfielder. Hits left-handers, which is something the Guardians wanted.
Guardians gave up prospects so we won't know for a while who got the best of things, but makes sense for the Guardians making a run in 2024.
It's a long season but definitely a bad stretch.
They CAN play their way past this time, but it's no sure thing.
Return of Ranger Suraez even slightly similar to first half performance would be great, but there's no guarantee. Pet peeves are walks by relief pitchers leading to big innings and offensively failure to advance runners in scoring position. Not to mention high number of strike outs where just making contact would be better.
Harper, Bohm, and a couple others need to step up. Could happen, but maybe not?
The body language and demeanor is telling. They look beat before they walk out on the field. I also question the conditioning especially the staff. It seems like they go two innings and they look like they're ready to keel over. Velo is down and they're all over the place with command. Oh well, this happens. They need to go 4-2 or better over the next six games with these bottom feeders. Walker supposed to go Tuesday night. That could be interesting for sure. .500 or worse against the Fish and Nats and it's really panic time.
Is there a conditioning issue? How many hamstring injuries have there been this year?
There's no way they're broadcasting team wines more than I do! I watch games of all the teams playing and every time there's a bad call I complain no matter who the team is!
Where is Dallas Green when you need him, Green came in, reenergized the team and they won it all. Is there a Green clone in the front office? Thompson is too laid back and platoon happy. Believe he destroyed Stott by platooning. Future all star SS when Turner moves to 2B, feel they will lose in first round. No issue with Dave D's deadline moves except they should have gotten a #3/4 starter. Not looking forward to Walker's return.
I’ve heard Dallas Green didn’t die in 2017. He was really cryogenically frozen 🥶 in the event he was needed at some later date in the future. Well, it’s about time they start thawing him out. It’s worth a shot.
I caught Thompson the other night after the loss and he looked like a whipped dog. He was sitting back in his chair and said if we had one more win instead of a loss, we would’ve been .500 for the road trip. What kind of leader talks like that? Most of those games were bad losses with players, struggling, and making errors. Hopefully there will be a shift of momentum playing at home against weaker opponents.
Regardless of season outcome, with a push they will allow Thompson to gracefully retire. Next manager Sam Fuld,

Phillies lose 2-0 lead vs Nationals in top of the 9th, but win it 3-2 with a walk-off (nearly a grand slam) by suddenly hot Trea Turner in the bottom of the 9th.

All of a sudden the pen is a big concern again. Do you trust these guys to get 3-6 outs in the playoffs with a one run lead?
More so, do you trust Thompson to make the right decisions? Old school, just like Girardi, let career minor leaguer, Stevenson bat with 50M on bench
Well, they showed big in tonight's 3-2 comeback win over the Braves on the road. 4 Phillies relievers went 3.2 scoreless innings to secure the win. Allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk.
Phillies defense was solid, too. Offense still a work in progress.
It’s a long season. Once the postseason starts, and you’re in, the real fun begins.
Speaking of the playoffs, the two division winners with the best record get a bye in the first round.
