Absolutely shameless....

All so Boomer Sooner morons can get a hard-on and thump their chests about "My Team"........

Exactly the same as 90% of the We Are fandom.
point its, there is an arms race, and either participate, keep up with your competition, or dont. And if you choose dont, they dont bitch when you go 4-8.

This is a stupid quote from Franklin. PSU obviously was faced with a massive outlier in terms of facing an unprecedented scandal and sanctions during several of those years. Spending like any peer football program while in the middle of the sanctions would have been idiotic. Of course our spending was lower, it had to be.
Don't forget, during that time period, the same Governor that torched our University drastically cut back on funding for education.

If it comes to that, what I'll bitch about is the inability of the AD to raise the money/

I thought that PSU's Athletic Department was supposed to be self-sustaining?

He picked a random timeframe. But you could go back to 2001 (as someone else mentioned) since any major renovation was done.

Any stat they quote should exclude sanction years if they really want to show a true analysis. The sanction years are an obvious outlier.

I figure this type of money will take more than Anne Saunders, CJF will have to lend a hand!!

Really? Two things:

1. You think he doesn't know or hasn't been asked?

2. Beaver Stadium is/was 15 years out last we looked.

Some people need to get their asses in gear!

Army has big plans to renovate one of college football’s best stadiums

Well, the master plan is a master plan. Like most master plans, they're created with a perfect world in mind.

Since we don't have an AD who can fund raise, it's not a perfect world to implement the master plan.

Gee, wouldn't it be swell to have all that money back that we've paid in legal fees, settlements, fines, NCAA monitors, and everything else that the BoT doled out to pay for the mistakes they made in the Sandusky situation?!

Army has a slight advantage; it's called the U.S. Treasury.
this is a better plan,......
Saudi Arabia now offers to fund new Iraq stadium
maybe we could get scUM to pay for the upgrades? Of Saudi Arabia?

????

True - but that has “what” to do with ICA?

We’ve been told 100,000,000 times about how PSU ICA is always self-funding.
I guess what I was trying to say was, is it possible that some revenue generated by sports(football) was used to supplement the educational side?

No. The Athletic Department was running a deficit. Cash flowed the other way.

or the softball team? Im sure the Beard's are ecstatic about how it has turned out so far- TIC -
Spending money on facilities doesn’t guarantee you a winning program obviously, but not spending money pretty much guarantees you a sub standard program. If you want to compete, you have to do so with your checkbook as well as with everything else that goes into building a program.

If he’s pointing out things like the carpet hadn’t been changed in 20 years, that goes well beyond a sanctions issue. My guess is the whole program got stale toward the end of Joe’s career.

So change it. What's the big deal?

No, it's not a stupid comment by Franklin. It's simply the truth.

AWS1022 is spot on. Our football program had gotten stale - in many ways - during the final years of JoePa.

so stale that we were going to win the B1G in 2011 if he was allowed to coach the season! truth!

Seriously, slugger, don't go there. Joe is gone. Curley is gone. Assholes like michshit can blame the dead guy, but the dead guy isn't preventing the new regime from moving forward.

true dat. But OTOH 66-20, 4-2 in bowls, 2 B1G championships, 3 top ten finishes in the last 7 years shows how stale PSU had gotten. But I am sure most to that was aberrations.

Not only that, but he's not around to prevent the carpet from being changed.

do you really think if the HFC wanted the carpet changed out after what CJF has done, the AD (even Sandy) would tell him no?

Pffffffffffffttttttttttttttttt ........... this is revisionist history to the 20th degree. A ridiculous post.

Yes, we were 5-0 in conference when JoePa was fired. We also had not faced the only 2 teams on our conference schedule which would actually finish above .500 in conference play. Neither had we faced Ohio State (who would go 3-5 in the B1G in 2011).

That 5-0 conference record was fool's gold. If JoePa was around, we would have lost to Wisconsin 45-7, just as much as we did in actual life. That 2011 team wasn't very good. Did you actually watch JoePa's last game against mediocre Illinois???

Can't imagine that she would. But first she'd have to hire an AAD in charge of carpet removal and another in charge of carpet replacement. That might take a while.

Fvckwad, we're talking about facilities here, not Joe's record, So get with the program or crawl back up your ass.

why do I think Sandy has several AAD that know how to remove carpet? Even if it does match the draperies .

was it Jay or Scott that used to shoot spit balls off the back of your head in English 101?

Your post made me imagine something frightening - what if we didn't have Jay on the sideline for that 2011 Wisconsin game???????

Given that Joe's absence cost us 39 points, I figure Jay's absence would have cost us another 20.

We would have lost 65-7 instead of 45-7!

Thankfully, Jay was also at the Ticket City Bowl!

10% of Sandy Baby’s “Office Bling” budget could replace all the flooring in Lasch Building.
(Not to mention the - what was it? $8 Million -that was never accounted for, that went into the locker rooms)

So..... uh...... only a complete fool would place any weight in such incredibly stupid examples.
Fortunately, for folks like Sandy Baby, the average sports fan - when it comes to “their team” - is a blithering idiot.
It goes beyond the carpeting, but I think you know that.
