Even with the injuries, I think many on this board forget how truly terrible we were at running the ball in the beginning of the year. All we can do is hope that he is better than 88th. We will see, but I believe that you'll see a much improved QB and offense this year.
Well, he is in his 8th year or something. At some point, I think around year 6, he developed into a pretty good QB. When he graduates, he'll be a little old for the NFL.

I thought the offense really got better as the season wore on. We started to be a pretty powerful running team and that opened up some lanes for Clifford in the passing game. Our defense still concerns me, particularly our pass defense.

So many on here are trashing Clifford yet many talk about Hack’s fantastic freshman year under OB. Clifford’s stats in his first year as a starter we’re all better than Hack’s except total yardage. His second year was better too. Selective memories strike again.
He also has a slight edge in QB rating (career) over Trace. But, let's not confuse fanboys with the facts.
No one is touting Clifford as an All American. However, some of the criticism and willingness to embrace derogatory evaluations is over the top.
If he plays the entire season without injury, he will be among the top 4 QBS in the conference.
So at Penn State, if someone has a bad season (during Covid mind you) then they suck for life. Got it. And who cares if they lose their top RB’s and their best LB….the QB must still suck.
