.....he was less than 100% health-wise which probably limited his ability to run.

It will not be a surprise, at least to me, if Franklin turns Clifford loose in the run game. Making UM respect his running will remove at least one of UM's box defenders from jamming up the lanes for Singleton and Allen which will lead to some chunk plays against the over rated UM defense. Can't wait!.....he was less than 100% health-wise which probably limited his ability to run.
Actually 1-1. Remember, 2020 didn't happen......he was less than 100% health-wise which probably limited his ability to run.

JJ McCarthy is 1-0; 1.000 winning percentage.
Its like you guys dont realize that Clifford is wearing a knee brace made for O-lineman this year. Get a legit backup QB ready to play in September and then throw caution to the wind and go for a 3 game October sweep of murder's row!!!
Agree. I think he's held back on this aspect of their offense, possibly with the risk for injury, but we are in the meat of the season that matters. It could partially neutralize an aggressive UM defense...and maybe loosen things up for the deep pass.It will not be a surprise, at least to me, if Franklin turns Clifford loose in the run game. Guys he is wearing a huge knee brace. He can't run like he used to.Agree. Imagine Michigan's surprise when the brace comes off a la Keyser Soze.Guys he is wearing a huge knee brace. He can't run like he used to.

We have two ways to beat Michigan this weekend:
1. Knee brace or no knee brace you let Cliff run the football and open up the offense for everything else.
OR
2. You put the kid in and let him throw it all over the yard.
We don't win this weekend with a status quo Clifford.
Absolutely!! IMO it is what the offense is missing right now. The defense isn't scared of Clifford pulling the ball and going. I know he is banged up but the D has to respect his legs this week. Heck even if it is for 6-7 yards at a time it will open everything else up.The other thing about Cliff is that he seems to play much better when he is green-lighted to scramble or run (i.e., designed QB runs). Some QBs are like this - they just play better and feel the action better when they're part of both the running and passing game.
It's pretty clear that no, Cliff will not be running for yards. Hopefully he is not running away from too many sacks/pressures.The other thing about Cliff is that he seems to play much better when he is green-lighted to scramble or run (i.e., designed QB runs). We may bring in Allar if Clifford is struggling too much. Last year we almost beat them with no running game from the rbs remember. Now we have 2 fantastic backs and a better O-Line.Then we lose.
1-0 against who? Not us.
Yes it is actually...Of course he is. This isn't baseball where only the starting pitcher gets credited with a win.

Glad thats cleared up. I mean c'mon man.Huh..... what? He not only was not the starting QB, but he didn't play in the game at all. Only a true jackass would argue McCarthy is 1-0 versus PSU.

Jordan Stout completed more passes than McCarthy last year. No, no: he is 2-1; .666 winning percentage, which is pretty good.
JJ McCarthy is 1-0; 1.000 winning percentage.

McCarthy has never throw a pass against PSU (and I don't believe he ever took a snap).
I'm pretty sure he doesn't get credit for that win.
Again: football isn't baseball. Everyone on the winning team gets to share in wins and losses.

Exactly. He's 5-0 as a starter, just like starting pitchers wins and losses are counted, starting QB record is counted. This debate is dumb.He. Didn't. Play. He doesn't get credit.
Technically no one even gets assigned wins and losses if we want to be pedantic. As you said, this isn't baseball.
McCarthy is 0-0 as a starter against Penn State. Moving on.
And then, Clifford is also 0-0. Technically.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh is 4-3 vs Franklin. Combined score of 191-147.
And...
This has zero bearing on Saturday's game.Meanwhile, Harbaugh is 4-3 vs Franklin. Combined score of 191-147.
What were Hackenbergs hs pitching stats? It was something hilarious. 52 innings pitched, 69 walks, 11.5 ERA.And...
Clifford's batting average is .000 and so is his slugging %
Yep, I wore the same knee brace for years after my ACL repair. A common precaution. Oh, and the Olinemen that wear it pull, run, and jump on top of defenders. A knee brace is a precaution that does not preclude the wearer from running.........Its like you guys dont realize that Clifford is wearing a knee brace made for O-lineman this year. Yep, he doesn't need to save himself for the CFL......Agree. I was there for the 1994 win and the Graham Zug game win. I've also been there for some losses. But in general, if I'm hungover, PSU wins. I'll work on that.Just realized in attending away games I'm 2-0 @ Michigan. ('96 and '09) and 1-0 @ OSU. ('08) Maybe I should go to this game...
O-lineman are not meant to try to run for first downs.Yep, I wore the same knee brace for years after my ACL repair. A common precaution. Oh, and the Olinemen that wear it pull, run, and jump on top of defenders. A knee brace is a precaution that does not preclude the wearer from running.........
