Stomach pumps?Constantly back and forth on Park Ave before and after the game, can't imagine how there could be so many incidents.
It would be interesting if they did a documentary other Live PD type show at a PSU game, maybe people would wise up a littleA large factor in the expansion of the ED a few years ago was accommodating all the drunks.
Hard to imagine needing nearly 50 rooms in an ED with the population and demographics of the area but booze factors heavily into it.
A couple rows in front of me last night a woman came in with her boyfriend and clearly was over the top. They didn’t even make it to the half. A person at the tailgate I visited described a voluminous expulsion in the stands.
Two of the ambulances were for @wolve1972 and @jimjim47. Both were crying uncontrollably.
When we came out to leave I noticed glass all around the side of my car. I looked up and seen their window was smashed out of their rental van (it had Michigan stickers and flags on it which I’m sure made it a target of drunks).
I'm sorry to hear that.I know one incident involved a young man near the porta Johns off lot 12 when he stumbled and fell, hit his head on the sidewalk, and started throwing up blood. It was pretty disturbing to see for a lot of the younger kids around.
The amount of incidents that take place due to over abuse of alcohol is a shame. We had Michigan fans tailgating next to us and they were great to hang out with. They said this was the best road game tailgating experience they had ever had. We didn’t see any problems towards them until around 5pm. Once the booze set in, people were walking by and cursing them to no end. When we came out to leave I noticed glass all around the side of my car. I looked up and seen their window was smashed out of their rental van (it had Michigan stickers and flags on it which I’m sure made it a target of drunks).
I also saw two girls next to the stadium punching and choking each other on the ground while a woman next to them yelled “Why are you guys doing this?? Your sisters!! I’m going to get your father!!”
Alcohol in the wrong hands can be a very destructive tool.
Went to a Steelers- Browns game in Cleveland a few year back and found it amazing how drunk and stupid people got. Grown men fighting over a stupid football game! That said I saw a group of PSU fans ( college age I’m guessing) giving an older couple from OSU a hard time at the 2005 game. I’m sure they had to much to drink but damn, those people had to be in their 70s and probably followed their team like we do. I did tell them not all of us are like that and I hoped they had a good time regardless of the harassment by a few. That's awful. Ignorant fools at their best.
I am an Eagles fan but living in State Coll which is Steeler territory for the most part, I always enjoyed watching their games with my buddies who got me into the whole Steeler culture years ago as a sideline. I have been to two Steeler playoff games and they were crazy. I only saw one dumb act by a Steeler fan who was destroying a Browns fan and his young son for no reason. Steelers won and the game was over. We were walking out. My buddy who grew up in Monessen had this ratbag loudmouth up against the wall and started telling him how these people are here to see their team. Don't act the fool. People are spending money in our town and you're being a dick. The guy turtled. He was wise. Fans should act more like that.
Whoa, which lot?Young girl 18 got hit by a car in our lot, her lower leg was run over. Was a bad scene
Drunken fans are one of the reasons I gave up my season tickets after nearly 40 years. I drink socially, but never to excess, and cannot relate to those that do. Beyond the obvious risks to your own safety, and those who cross your path, what is the point to spending your time and money to see a sporting event and then being so shit-faced you can't appreciate the action on the field?I know one incident involved a young man near the porta Johns off lot 12 when he stumbled and fell, hit his head on the sidewalk, and started throwing up blood. It was pretty disturbing to see for a lot of the younger kids around.

I think it was 18 was tailgating w friends, 2500 block. I didn’t see it but went down to render aid if need be. There was already ppl there that had things under control. She clearly had her distal tibia and tibia run overWhoa, which lot?
YIKES, is that paved lot? I'm alwaYsidro amazed when I see people walking stupidly through lots or people driving stupidly through lotsI think it was 18 was tailgating w friends, 2500 block. Playing the Don Brown drinking game? It's mainly alcohol toxicity. Don't get sick on a game Saturday and need the ER. Not kidding.
I heard that they put adult diapers on the drunks and tie them to a gurney until they aren’t a fall risk.
Maybe for some of them having an experience like this ends up changing the paths of their lives preventing something worse in their future. Maybe some of them realize this isn’t fun after all. What does one suppose that medical procedure costs? And I get it, I'm not shizzing on the hospital. How about a soph who is barely making ends meet. Here ya go kid, a $2500 bill (or whatever, just guessing). A diaper alone and its application is probably 5 hun. ER visit and transport easily a grand.
Maybe they already have a class like this but all first year students at U Park should have some kind of a class where these things are dealt out.. being a broke-dick underclassman waking up in the hospital with the bill and/or a nice fat fine and license suspension for underage (if applicable) or worse.
I know the workers at the hosp dread game day and they have good reason.

Embarrassment and a big medical bill are better than dead or injured accident victims or broken families and ruined careers.
This could be urban myth, but my understanding is that if you get transported they will not cite you for underage.Maybe for some of them having an experience like this ends up changing the paths of their lives preventing something worse in their future. Not sure that’s the case. When I worked at the stadium and we took kids to ER -drunk -they would call the cops and this was 30+ years ago. This could be urban myth, but my understanding is that if you get transported they will not cite you for underage.
I did not see it but as you can imagine there was very conflicting reports as to what happened. Police were notified and all parties were interviewed. Really unfortunate for all involved.YIKES, is that paved lot? I'm alwaYsidro amazed when I see people walking stupidly through lots or people driving stupidly through lots

I’m not suggesting it was a thing back when the kids drank beer. Not sure that’s the case. When I worked at the stadium and we took kids to ER -drunk -they would call the cops and this was 30+ years ago.
Just imagine working the ED in Mt. Nittany for these night games.
I heard that they put adult diapers on the drunks and tie them to a gurney until they aren’t a fall risk.
I really can’t manage much sympathy for people who act like this. I hate having to interact with them or sit near them. The really bad thing is that some of them end up behind the wheel while still drunk.
Agree. I love PSU football, but I am learning to hate night games.I've been to almost all of the night games and I thought Sat. game was one of the worst I've seen for completely drunk and ignorant people.
Not counting the lots, as I did not spend much time there this week, but the behavior in the stadium seems to get worse every year. Two years in a row security has dragged visiting fans out of our section. The year prior to that, they dragged a PSU fan out.I've been to almost all of the night games and I thought Sat. game was one of the worst I've seen for completely drunk and ignorant people.
I always get in early. I was in 68 minutes before kick-off. As people started filling in you could see some who were really hammered. We had one in our row. She had to be walked in and out a couple of times. My friend came in much closer to game time and told me that there were a lot of really drunk people when he was walking in to the stadium. Seems to be the consensus.I've been to almost all of the night games and I thought Sat. game was one of the worst I've seen for completely drunk and ignorant people.
