WMU gets called for 12 men on the field which went to review. Set WKU up to kick GWG FG.

I swear since they used two different screens to count the players they all counted number 13 twice so in reality WMU only had 11 on the field.

They had 12. Watching the play itself, 4 men rushed and 8 were in the end zone at the end. The camera work was awful and never really showed it.

What was more amazing is the WMU coach going for it on 4th & 3 in what appeared to be FG range. It would not have been a chip shot but could have given them the lead. I'm at a gathering and they had the sound down on the TV so I didn't get any explanation. Needless to say they didn't make it then let WKU get into FG range with a too many men penalty. Not a good way to end the season for the WMU coach.

It would have been the longest FG of the year for Western Michigan and into the wind. That's why they decided to go for it on 4th down.

Good teams overcome those kinds of things. The calls will even out.

Isn't that what we've been told since 1993?? o_O

The WKU coach actually did a good job to cause the confusion. The FG team was on the field and then he sent the offense back out. WMU was confused and ended up with the 12 men.

what was worse for WMU was the missed 4th down was set up when the QB had a clear field for at least 15 yds on the 3rd down and he tripped.
