With a kid like this -- and by "like this" I just mean someone who isn't nationally ranked and seems to be a good, but not elite, wrestler -- is he being offered any money at all, or is it just the opportunity to wrestle for Cael and Penn State? As tight as money is, I would assume the latter.

Great get by Cael... Perhaps Coach Franklin and the football team may get the assist.

Richie McClanahan was at the Penn State White Out win over #2 ranked Ohio State and got to rush the field after the victory.

Had to be an awesome experience for Richie and other recruits (like it was for fans). Glad he wants to be a Nittany Lion.

Welcome Richie!

Florida seems to produce some good HS wrestlers. They just don't have any place to go to wrestle collegiately, if they want to stay in the area. Maybe some lower division opportunities?

Florida wrestling is alive and well, if you listened to my family. A large contingent of my aunts, uncles, cousins etc. live there and they speak proudly of the High School Wrestling scene. Hasn't been seen much in D1 on the big stage...#14 of all states by their number of qualifiers, and tied for #14 with 10 AA's since 2009. Matches the population, so it's not bad...though as a warm weather state, lots of other sports imo are more popular.

I meant to point out his height last night. In the Hudl video I linked, he's listed as 5' 10". That's pretty tall for 132 -- the weight he wrestled last season.

He'll be ok, if you can AA at 33 being 6'10, I think he can manage the weight at a full foot less

Will he have to share his pizza with Mr. Hand?
