Auburn board not happy...

Let them have their sadness. We've been there. They played good tonight. Considering they got every benefit of the doubt type play and a couple blatant in-their-favor calls, they have nothing to whine about beyond just losing.

I presume he wanted a PI call on Brisker for that uncatchable balloon ball in the end zone on 4th down ?

that or the PI that gave us a 1st down. at least one of those was likely a makeup call for the refs somehow not counting downs in the 1st half. And then actually talking about it and announcing that it was really 4th down (it was not)

Among other things. Here is the text:

So... they drag our receiver down after obviously impeding his route.. No flag.

Our defender is looking around d trying to make a play on the ball. Pass interference....
screw u

On top of the BS targeting call that gave them a TD.

WTF. I don't mind losing a legit game. This was shitty to watch. Refs threw a close game.
We have been on the receiving end of this, and I disliked it just as much. I'm going to bed.

We should have won this game.

The DPI against Dotson was one of the few penalties called correctly. There was no make up to it. It would have been the 5th, maybe 6th egregious call against us had they not called it and, upon further review, might be the only call that saves their collective hide.

Replay official should be punished for not stopping play and correcting our 3rd down punt while that pompous @$s head ref acted like it was 4th down.

First of all, the receiver pulled the defender down more than anything else: secondly, the d-back is permitted to impede receiver's route if he beats him to the spot (i.e., d-back fully permitted to make receiver go around him); and lastly, the ball was not remotely "catchable" by either player! No way was that PI.

If the guy really believes his player is essentially allowed to tackle the receiver who is looking at ball and trying to catch it and the only thing the d-back is doing is tackling the offensive player before the ball has arrived...., well the moron clearly doesn't understand the PI Rule. LMAO

They didn’t like the targeting call ?
The one thing I can say is that they call it every time a defender tackles with his head down, even if, as we saw last week, the ball carrier lowers the crown of his helmet.

The targeting call didn't matter in the scheme of things. They didn't lose a DL or LB, whom were in on their last few stands. The ball at the 1 or 1 1/2 yard line was happening regardless. The stoppage killed our momentum.

Yes. We actually lost yardage on the next 2 plays.

The play in the end zone with Brisker defending was shown multiple times. You don't even need slow motion to see that the Auburn WR initiates contact by pulling on the PSU DB's arm. Then he pops up and starts looking for a flag. They must have a great acting/theater program at Auburn, because between that WR and Nix (on the Smith 'late hit') they have some great actors on that team.

They lost the civil war on a technicality according to their fans.

The officiating sucked and it favored Auburn - it was obvious. Don’t pay any attention to their board - long time tradition of southern bellyaching that has no basis in reality. That’s the fun of living in the south - you get to live in a fantasy land.

To claim the Smith PF penalty was the result of illegal contact would be about the same thing as saying nursing home caregivers are assaulting their patients on an hourly basis.

Not going for it on 4th and 1 at the beginning of the 4th quarter and then throwing that Donovan/Rahne-esque fade on 4th and goal at the 2 were some of the dumbest offensive calls they could have made. Their o-line was winning throughout the 2nd half and Harsin took the ball out of their hands.

I think karma evens things out sometimes.

there was another blatant offensive PI by Auburn that they let go.

And how about Herbie gushing over how great it was that Nix faked getting hit to draw a PF? What is wrong with that clown (Herbie)?

Total cases of outthinking themselves. bet bigsby scores I’d they hand it to him.

They were outcoached. I think Franklin realized that if he took a lead of 8 or more points into the final 10 minutes, Auburn was in real trouble. They were certainly figuring out how to move the ball on us in the 2nd half, but the drives were taking forever.

Auburn played a tough game but I lost a little respect for their coach on these two plays you mention. It can't be a coincidence that Nix goes down like a ton of bricks at the slightest touch out of bound and then they draw up a fade on 4th down and obviously try to draw a PI call by grabbing our defender and both falling down. Those were clearly coached/planned. Just play big boy football and stop the theatre dramatics.

How about a link please

Can people please learn to link the material they reference?

Stop the colluded cheating with the SEC Officials you mean??? You know what they say in the SEC, if you're not cheating, you're not trying.

Apparently they wanted the safety called. Pretty sure this shot is after he initially got the ball completely across and was pushed back.

Even if this play was wrong, it was definitely owed to go our way regardless.

Do you really think if they could have gotten a good angle this sec crew WOULDN'T have called down to review?
