Back in the Lehigh Valley after 3-4 years. Best cheesesteak in town?!?

I know it’s been asked before but I need some answers fast!

Best cheese steaks in the L.V / ABE area... ??
No personal offense intended, but I remain perplexed as to how someone can surf the internet to not only find and post on BWI/McAndrew board, but not yet know about "Yelp".

The following is a link that might be of assistance

Seward’s, worked there as a kid in mid 80’s to ‘91. Still same owner. You will get your money’s worth! Located at 17th & Union Streets in Allentown.

That presumes that the gastronomical expertise of Yelpers exceeds that of the denizens of this board. Perhaps he believes, as I do, that the contrary is true.:)

I was a Brass Rail fan for years, in part because of the great Malone's Bakery rolls. Unfortunately, Malone's closed a few months ago.

Don’t be a douche, I read threads on here about friggin lawn fertilizer.

I’ve already gotten better opinions then any review site. Appreciate it l!

Because yelp sucks ass and many people here aren’t yelpers. Rascals is closed and the cheesesteak was nasty. If you want a good cheesesteak that isn’t that horrible dog meat go to Charles pizza on union Blvd. another good spot is westgate pizza in Bethlehem. Best place to go is in Bethlehem.
Villa vita.

Siff and I grew up two blocks from Sewards. I think I’ll stop over today for a cheesesteak, it’s been a while and you never know who you’ll run in to..

Nittanybear, very small world indeed! I grew up a half block from the shop so I’ve known Mike and Pat most of my life, great people! If your mom was a semi regular I am sure I have met her during my time working there.

Yep, it’s me...I’ll tell mike you said hello..

Just returned from visiting my Mother in Bethlehem. I always go to Westgate Pizza during my visits. Same owner, Dominic, since 1973.
Excellent cheesesteak and pizza by the slice is fantastic. Thin crust.

Crossroads. And their pizza is pretty awesome too. If ever I want a slice, I get a whole pie. Doesn’t take long to vanish.

Speaking from personal experience (as a recovering food and wine geek), Yelp tends to suck in terms of review reliability. I only use it when I’m looking for a place and google can’t locate a website.

Bingo on by-the-slice from westgate. To get similar out of a whole pie, we used to ask for “well done.” Reheating on a pizza stone works the same way.

As a PSA to the board, if you want a perfect slice of reheated pizza, get a pizza stone. Wifey and I ONLY use it for reheating.

As a kid I was there a lot. I remember the arcade(s) game by the back door. Tell them Matt and Shirley say hello.

Went to UP 81-85 and at the time, about all we could afford was Dominos but the recipe then was pretty good compared to the trash today. Also remember getting free pepsi with it. That ice cold pepsi and a cold slice of dominos the next morning cured many a hangover.

...Crossroads was sold to a new owner last year who says same menu will continue...
.
...Rte 412 is main drag in Hellertown... former Crossroads is about 1/2 mile from I-78 exit ... heading into town...
on the left at a traffic light... :)

Had Lunch at Westgate yesterday. It is the best pizza in town!

I am partial to Crossroads for the steak sandwiches and pierogies.
