Ohio State, the most BS "national champ" in 34 years

Tennessee taking over the Shoe was more a matter of the athletic department stupidity than anything else. Every season ticket holder had the same password for the presale and it was leaked by a ticket broker.
The password was very original

Are you sure? I’ve seen lots of tOSU fans saying it’s not legit because of the loss to TTFUN. Fans can be irrational. The way tOSU fans baled on their team and allowed Tennessee to create an orange wave at the Shoe was an example of that irrationality.
Yea, but I gotta believe that those Tennessee fans that created that wave of orange wish they never showed up at the Shoe:) Seriously, their VolNation board after the Playoff game was hilarious....comedy at its best

Here you have a team (Ohio State) that lost 2 games. One of those games was the worst loss by a national champion since (funny enough) Ohio State back in 1957, when they lost at home to a terrible TCU team.

Michigan was AWFUL. They didn't have Loveland. They didn't have Will Johnson. The only thing they had was a good DL. That was it. And Ohio State lost. At home.

They objectively DO NOT defeat Nebraska and Penn State fans without the refs. But Penn State fans will defend this as a legitimate national title, and call you a loser if you want better, fairer officiating.

Not only that, but some of you whackjobs will even try to say Ohio State was maybe the best team ever. Yes, Ohio State had a lot of NFL talent. No doubt. Did 1970 Nebraska lose to a team as bad as Michigan? Did 1993 FSU? Or, hell, 2002 Ohio State? What about 05 Texas? Or 21 Georgia? Name any team since 1957 and they didn't have a pathetic loss at HOME, a second loss, and two absolute ref gift "wins." Actually, besides the terrible loss to TCU, Hayes's 1957 squad was much better, much more deserving than this pile of crap.

But Penn State fans will defend them and say, hey, that might be the GOAT!

That, to me, is all the problems with PSU fans in a nutshell.
While OSU losing to UM was bad- I'd go with ND losing to NIU as AWFUL......

We lost to 3 Playoff teams in close games...but still LOST.

Credit to OSU- they stepped up their game and deserved the championship.

Michigan last year felt different and may eventually be recognized as such.

Regarding Michigan...you already recognize it as such, right? I don't understand the logic that an NCAA ruling changes anything. Those that think it's invalid will continue. Those that believe it counts still will. The NCAA stating something doesn't change anything to me. Just like when we vacated win...that was as funny as it was stupid.

Gifted their way 😂
Absolutely stupid Ohio State fan talking points.

Every time you point out to these clowns the staggering amount of officiating it took for Nebraska to lose, they go, oh but we were the least penalized team!!! 😭

Right, and who else was in the bottom of the stat? Other Big Ten teams! Because Big Ten refs don't call penalties in general! Secondly, Ohio State was last furthermore because Ohio State had big leads late against bad teams like Michigan State, a bunch of MACtions, etc. refs don't call penalties for such teams. No one's going to call Oregon for holding when Ohio State is leading by 30.

And before any of you Ohio State cave people say it, yes, that OPI on Smith in Oregon was one hundred percent the right call.

Your national championship is a pile of bull**** with a laughably bad home loss. And you know it

Penn State lost 3 games in 2024-25. One was self-inflicted (Notre Dame) but it doesn't really bother me because, even though Penn State messed it up, Notre Dame deserved to win. The other two were because of one referee: Kole Knueppel. Anyone who disputes this has to dispute the obvious film from both games. Can someone explain why Oregon gets a correct pi against Smith in the first game with Ohio State but THEIR tight end is allowed to commit the identical penalty against Penn State in a critical 4th down?

Wow. So PSU really only lost one time and the rest of the loses were because of the refs?

If you haven't noticed, the playoffs have changed. Teams can get in with 2 losses now. OSU did and then went on a tear. You can call it what you want, the banner in my basement isn't coming down. The idea that the officiating is rigged is laughable. Of all of the hundreds of people who would have to know about it, no one has come forward?

what a clown...so by his dumb logic, if PSU loses a game or two and then wins it all, it doesn't count? lol. Some in our fanbase just look like fools. As was just mentioned, the playoffs have changed the optics for winning a title from the old days. Going undefeated is extremely unlikely. So, a title winner with one or two losses is probably the norm. Who cares...just win it all.

This is the most ridiculous thread I’ve ever seen. For 35 years we have been subjected to the most BS “picking” of a Mythical National Champion. IMO, it made CFB look sillly.

We now have an actual playoff where a team beat the best of the best…..and is the First Actual Bonfide National Champion. I hate OSU but they won this on the field. Done. Bring on next year.
Exactly. You now can get into the Playoffs over one bad-unexpected loss and still prove that you are an excellent team. To win a NC now, you have to beat 4 outstanding teams in a row......no more BS as in the past when the NC was selected from the final poll voting or even when the NC had to win 2 games (4 team Playoff).

OSU - or any team here forward - will have to earn it on the field, I believe - correct me if wrong - OSU had to beat 4 of the top 6 or 7 teams in the country to win the NC - THEY EARNED IT. To say otherwise just comes across as jealousy

OSU beat all of the top 6 teams except themselves.

Yeah the argument about officiating holds no water nor that they are undeserving but it is ironic that the first year of an expanded playoff, who is the team that gets saved and benefits the most? What do you know our beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. You might know it.....every other year before this one they would have been cooked after that embarrassing loss to Michigan but not this year. Plus it is not like their second loss was in the conference championship game against a top ten team. Nope at home versus a 5 or 6 loss Michigan team. They were granted a second life and took advantage. Biggest surprise was how Oregon came totally unprepared to play. That was pivotal and really helped them.
