At this point I don't think finding a coach that matches brands results is what I would be looking for. I would be looking for someone who never coached but has that "it" factor that a coach needs along with a character that will bring young kids in. Kinda like DT for okie state. Those kind of guys would be hard to find other than a nolf like guy I just don't see nolf going that route but who knows if they gave him the freedom to change the culture

I don’t get why we think experience in college coaching is some big deal. Recruiting is simple a matter of having big names, facilities and a strong room and you don’t have to be in college to know how to develop a wrestler.
Mendez has been an absolute buzzsaw all season, but looked beatable against Vombaer.
And credit to Vombaer, who was the aggressor most of the match. He got to Mendez's leg a number of times, but could only finish once.
Friendly sh!t talking aside… if I was Iowa, I’d be taking to Nolf or Cenzo. I think Nickal would laugh in your face. I have no idea what Nolf would do. I think Cenzo would listen as he’s been at a few places. Cenzo has a big personality that people love. Nolf is someone wrestlers emulate. Maybe none of them would listen at all to Iowa, but that’s where I would go.
And having said all that… I agree that brands has been good. Its a matter of whether you want to risk falling a lot for rising a little.
Askren would be the other name to consider.
Oh what a day it would be if Iowa rolled nickal out as head coach. So many Iowa fans would be losing their ****ing shit lmfao. Good thoughts though I completely forgot about cenzo. Maybe have marrinelli as an assistant kids would be getting ****ing thrown everywhere. Also, I forgot about hall isn't he a coach somewhere?

What good does appealing to results do if even you admit that there are coaches out there with much lighter accolades that are better coaches.
I don't think DT gets enough credit for being a high-level technical teacher of wrestling through his days running M2.
He's always been on the cutting edge of wrestling tactics all thru PSU/NLWC days, dating back to HS & his youth.
DT had arguably the best technical wrestling coach as his personal coach - Casey Cunningham.
That rubs off over a decade-plus.
Then running M2, and having to explain & teach a large database of technique to all ages of kids over a wide range of ability.
And working w/ M2 kids in various open tournaments over several seasons...
The day DT signed his contract, he was already one of the best teachers of wrestling in the country.

Well, to be fair, Arnold is very tough to score on. But, yeah, pretty limited offensively.
Allred just stayed the course and eventually wore down Arnold's defense.
See I figured that but only a buzzkill starts calling you out.

Here’s my coaching staff if money is no option and I have my choice:
Head Coach: Joseph. People like him; that means a lot. Nolf otherwise.
Lightweights: Suriano. Can you imagine? Cenzo knows him. Otherwise Pletcher/Tomasello/Richards.
Middle weights: Nolf or Cenzo. Swap head coach and middle weights otherwise. Or maybe Wick/Marstellar/Retherford.
Upper weights: you’re not getting Nickal here. But you might get Max Dean or Warner or Moore.
But I’m off the boxed wine now and done giving Madden such a hard time. (Sorry Madden).
