Underrated song: The Hardest Part is the Night
 
Runaway was awesome and that would be my best song for them. Do you want me to tell my wife she is wrong? Dear lord.

Underrated: creeping death (if you can all this underrated)

I'd add Appetite for Destruction is maybe the best debut album ever for any band in any genre.

Another underrated GN'R song is Estranged. I loved how they were perfectly willing to write 13-minute singles. It was amazing how great they were given that they released albums for essentially only a 3-4 year period.

Best Song - Don't Worry Baby for surf era. Surf's Up for post-surf era.

Most Overrated - God Only Knows. It's a good song but people go overboard. Paul McCartney said it was the greatest song ever written and it made him cry when he first listened to it. A bit much.

Most Underrated - The Warmth of the Sun. That song was over 50 years old before I heard it for the first time. I can't understand why it is so obscure.

Most Underrated - Josie, Fire In The Hole (the piano solo on that is fantastic), FM, Don't Take Me Alive, and more.

I thought about listing that one. The version released as a single wasn't as good as over versions though so I didn't use it. There are long versions of it on Youtube and also there is a live version of it at the beginning of a 45 minute performance of the entire SMiLE album from 2004 that is great. The whole 45 minutes is great. Brian was still young enough that he had some energy (although he couldn't do the high voices) and he had a great band around him.

For guns and roses I would throw out patience and November rain as underrated. Knocking on heavens door is pretty awesome as well.

jmho but I wouldn't pick Don't Stop Believin' as Journey's best song. Maybe for anyone born after 1985 it is. Not sure which one I'd choose as their best. My kids would certainly agree with you but I'm not sure they've even heard any of Journey's "older" stuff from their first few albums.

Have to agree. I love Bertha. My favorite opening was/is Bertha>Greatest Story.
