119-30 they beat Texas Southern.. Honestly, is there a more uncompetitive sport then Women's basketball? They shoud just drop it to a 16 team field and let the other 48 compete for something else.

They outscored them 26-6 in the fourth. I guess the 93-24 lead they had at the end of three, wasn't quite comfortable enough. I know nothing about womens college hoops this year (except that UConn is dominant). I filled out a bracket just for fun. I got 30/32 correct in first round. No parity at all.

Don't worry, they will get a taste of that if they end up playing UConn.

FWIW, Baylor pretty much played its entire bench with three subs scoring in double figures. Not sure that Kim Mulkey could have done much more except tell her kids to stop playing, which she couldn't.

Does the NCAA understand the severity of the problem with women's Division I basketball? The lack of parity is ruining the game and they are going to lose money on the TV rights as fans outside of Storrs, CT will simply turn it off.
On a positive note, the Lady Lions won their first game in the WNIT over Ohio. They are currently up 25-8 over Fordham in a game at the BJC.

We were talking about this last night. I said they should drop to 32. Maybe you are right.

The NCAA doesn't make squat on women's basketball. Rights were sold as part of a package to ESPN with a bunch of other junk like baseball, softball, fencing gymnastics, bowling, etc. In other words, it's filler.

Not gonna happen as long as member schools insist on being part of Division I basketball even if they don't have what it takes to be competitive. It's all about the egos of the people that run these schools. Why else do you think there are so many bullcrap football bowl games?

Oh, I agree with you. I'm just speaking from a purely competitive point of view. That, of course, is not the driving factor.

From a competitive point you are correct. And finances aren't driving it, either, because almost everyone is losing money, in some cases lots and at some colleges that can ill-afford to do so. But it's all so that the people who run these places can say to those around them "Look at me!"

Why drop it to 16, don't you mean don't even play the tournament because UCONN will win it hands down anyway?

Narrow it down to the final four, then let the other three teams form an all star team to play against UCONN. At least there might be some intrigue that way.
