Thanks for updates. Keep it coming. Let’s go Robby!! Someone above said Howard may hit Crookham in semis. Very interested in this result and appreciate the posters keeping this thread alive.

Robert Howard BC vs Trae McDaniel of Cleveland School

1. Howard TD immediately and locks up a cradle. 5-0. Can’t finish and period ends.

2. Howard on top to start. Escape McDaniel. 5-1. Howard TD. 7-1. Escape McDaniel. 7-2.

3. Howard on bottom and out. 8-2. Injury time as Howard is rubbing his left leg, not serious looking. Back at it and late TD for McDaniel makes it a 8-4 final for Robbie!

Crookham pins Wask of Blair. Howard vs Crookham in the semis. Crookham has been an absolute hammer on top all tourney. His length may cause problems for Robbie, but should be a good one. Dare I say a full court press in order for Crookham?

Aurelius Dunbar vs Andrew Cerniglia of Notre Dame Green Pond. 1 seed and Naval Academy commit.

1. TD Cerniglia. 2-0. Suck back and it’s 5-0. Half Nelson and it’s 7-0. Escape Dunbar and it’s 7-1. Immediate blast double to the back by Cerniglia and he gets the fall. Cerniglia fall over Dunbar.

Robbie Howard, Bergen Catholic vs Ryan Crookham, Notre Dame Green Pond.

1. Late TD Crookham and rides out the period 2-0

2. Crookham down to start. Robbie with two boots in and a hard ride. Escape Crookham 3-0.

3. Howard down. Tough ride from Crookham. Robbie appears to have injured his shoulder. He is fine and they start again. Robbie reversal. 3-2. 3-2 final Crookham.

wow, kid doesn’t wrestle like a sophomore.

How about a full court press for the kid from SEM who beat Crookham last week?
Bouzakis is a fan candidate to be certain but I'm not convinced he'll be a high priority for the coaches -- among the projected 149s, Van Ness, Crookham, and Mendez seem better fits. Bouzakis is more defensive oriented.

That plus he has already visited Cornell.

Crookham is legit and so is Robbie and so is Bouzakis. Ryan and Nic are going to be huge pick ups wherever they go. Ryan has a higher weight projection than Robbie I think.

Future PSU star at 125?
Mutual interest, and Poulin is the 2nd best prospect after Figueroa (their recent match was not close). Without the weight uncertainty with Figs.

The one worry I'd have about Poulin is if he will be an early peaker, others later in their development might catch up to him. He was practically still in diapers when he hit the national scene.

Cerniglis beat Ulrey 11-6 in the finals. He's really good.

It’s a modified Jonesy isn’t it? rolling through with the shin whizzer. like Nolf hit on Pipher at the scuffle last year, and Brooks has hit a few times?

I was right: http://matref0.tripod.com/NFHS_Rules_Photos.pdf

If you scroll down to picture 81, it shows that a cutback using the leg, not the arm, to block an opponent's leg is illegal. Pretty sweet move, but he should not have gotten away with it, and fortunately his opponent wasn't injured.
Looked like he got his hip behind Ungar's heel and bent his own leg to tuck the kids foot in. Don't know if that makes it legal, but it wasn't his leg blocking opponent's leg.
I remember a couple years ago there were threads about Isaac Jordan v Bo Jordan match and Isaac's possible cutback.

Still illegal. Any use of the leg/hip to block the leg is illegal, especially using the swinging motion he did. You can use your arm to block it without swinging your whole body weight into the move.

This was a super illegal move, but admittedly very cool. I wish it were legal, but I understand why it isn't because of the high chance of an ankle/knee getting caught and injured.

What's the difference if he sweeps the leg like he did in the video or grabs the opponents calf and lifts? Their weight distribution is probably the same resulting in the same fall.
