I was just looking through the registrations on Flo and Wyoming Sem is missing a number of kids. No Bouzakis, Meyer Shapiro, or Gabe Arnold. I think I’ve heard that Bouzakis is injured and Shapiro missed the Ironman for Covid related reasons. I thought Shapiro would be good to go this weekend though. Arnold missed weight the second day of Ironman so maybe that has something to do with why he isn’t entered. Does anyone know for sure why these three studs are out this weekend? These are probably 3 of the top 5 kids in the tournament so it’s sucks they are out. Tournament will still be amazing so hopefully everyone can tune in.

Thanks. Hopefully that means that other kids might be competing as well and just aren’t listed in the registrations
Quick talk at practice tonight......Meyer should be ok too. But that doesn't mean mineo or the assitant coach I talk to know what they are talking about.

I see that none of the guys I mentioned are wrestling today. Too bad. On a positive note Joseph Sealy is back and wrestling at 152lbs for Sem. Kid is a beast

Into the quarters (guys we've noted before):
106 - Nate Desmond, Beca
120 - Marc-Anthony McGowan, Blair
138 - Tyler Kasak, Beca

113 Anthony Knox (NJ) withdrew prior to the tournament start.

Please sign McGowan. Not the most dynamic (yet) but long, quick and probably a 4 yr. 125

Also any word on why Jim Mullen isn’t there? Was really looking forward to Feldman vs Mullen

Too close to football season? Just a guess ...

Their schools are both going to Powerade in 2 weeks, so we'll likely see that matchup then.

All into the semis.

Semis results so far:
Desmond 11-0 MD
McGowan squeaks by Nini 2-1 TB-1

Kasak 3-0
Kinney also into the finals, has pinned every opponent so far (though that's likely to end vs Feldman).

Did Nazareth co-op with East Stroudsburg? They have two kids from East stroudsburg in the finals at Beast. Parkins and Kinney
Plus another kid from Easton in their lineup.

I like the crew from Nazareth, but it looks like the "homegrown" jeering from a few years ago when they were first knocking off BECA looks a bit silly now. Given the history of D11 on the whole, it looked a bit silly then, too. BECA and Green Pond really aren't doing anything different than what was being done at other schools up there 30, 40 years ago.

I agree with this. Hartman the d11 chair is the first to go against anyone else on the PIAA level. He protects his area schools but strongly against Wpial schools from doing the same.

Yawn. We've been over this dozens of times before -- another D11 school has to file a complaint. Who's gonna do that? Nobody who fears a retaliation complaint in any sport including football.

And Hartman has no jurisdiction over WPIAL unless an appeal is filed at the PIAA level. So any blame there goes to the WPIAL schools. Specifically the ones that cheat.

If you cheat, don't blame the officials for uneven application of the rules. You still cheated.

I burst out laughing when I heard Bob Lombardi tell another adult the PIAA's chief responsibilities are to run the championships and ensures to the best of their abilities a fair and evenly competitive balance.

We all know the PIAA does this in the most ham fisted way possible. But there's still this ignorant fan perception that some all knowing, all powerful being in Allentown rules everything in Pittsburgh with an iron fist, with absolutely no input from Pittsburgh people -- while simultaneously allowing a free for all locally over the overwhelming objections of Allentown officials.

Hartman probably faked the moon landing too.

It's pretty humorous to believe anybody believes someone outside of the WPIAL controls anything inside the WPIAL.

Once it gets pushed to the PIAA level is where Hartman has a vote. He doesn’t ever call out his D11 programs for them to appeal
To the PIAA. It happens in D7 all the time.

Again: he can't. The affected school has to. If they don't, that's the end of the story.

If the D7 schools want to not get busted for cheating, they should try: not cheating.

Coming from A D11 supporter. District 11 is notorious for this for decades with nothing ever done. Trust me D7 has no problem trying to eliminate these problems within their districts

Don't know what you're trying to say. I'm hardly a D11 supporter and never lived there. And D7 tries to eliminate this? Please stop before I wet my pants laughing.
