Well, one of the best I ever had was up in Camden, Maine. I think the place was called The Captain's Table. Coffee with *real* cream. Wild Maine blueberry pancakes, with real maple syrup. Bacon (of course) and some eggs up.

I've always known them as a breakfast mess.

After some low level investigation, most places here in the 'Burgh call this dish a Mixed Grill.

Someone else remarked about the fat level but I don't eat breakfast with my eyes on the negatives.

Yeah, breakfasts in Maine can be exceptional. The scones, lobster omelets, blue berry pancakes, all of it is really incredible.

Damn man! the mother of my children is from New Orleans, met her while in the service, yes, breakfasts in NO are exceptional.
I'm not as well travelled as some of you, but it's been my experience that it's hard to go wrong with breakfast in the South. There seem to be tons of great diners and pancake houses.

Yeah, you are correct. One memory I have is I spent a few days in Charleston once, holy hell, the shrimp and grits for breakfast were memorable.
