Biff Walizer

Guy on the left is one of the biggest bad asses this sport as ever known. Sad thing is, too few know of his sheer badassery.

I wonder how many people can identify the gentleman in question!

I admit it took me several moments to realize who it is!

Funny thought .... From a certain angle, he looks like he could be a relative of Wade Schalles, like a cousin or something. Slightly similar faces

Thanks for the education! Not clear on how he won 6 OW awards at NCAAs though?
It's a mistake. He won OW twice at NCAA's. Here's a quote from another source, probably where the six came from..."During his four years of collegiate competition, he entered seven national tournaments, won all seven, and was voted the outstanding wrestler at six of them."

I’m not sure, I think they may have included Lock Haven’s conference tournament in that number.

Per the article he was OW at NAIAs 4 times, plus 2x at NCAAs.

I've got a Biff story. I was probably like 12 years old or so and I was attending the Lock Haven summer wrestling camp. Mike Garcia, 3X state champ from Mt. Carmel and I were training partners. I was one year older than Mike, and I was pretty good back then, but, Mike was still better. At the time, Biff wasn't real good. I don't know if he started late or what. However, Biff senior was one of the instructors. He would throw Biff in against me and Garcia to let him get his butt kicked. I remember him telling me and Garcia to go even harder against him and put a beating on him. Of course, they both ended up being PA wrestling legends, and I ended up being a one time qualifier.
