Usually you send your "best" crew to a Championship game.....this conference doesn't have a "best" crew!

Any bets on them bringing Witvoet out of retirement?

For the record, I thought O'Neill's crew did a good job on Sat except for the second MSU play from scrimmage in the second half: they completely missed a very obvious 5 players lined up way way way off the line of scrimmage.

Well there weren't many flags thrown at all, which is almost always a good thing. What his crew likes to do is inject themselves into the competition and dream up stuff like defensive holding on punts and ridiculously minute sideline infractions, while missing obvious stuff like interceptions bouncing around on the ground. So yeah, I guess in total O'Neill's crew did a good job this weekend....by de-emphasizing themselves.

Well there was th guy on the MSU sideline who kept giving them an extra yard when spotting plays that went out of bounds on their side of the field. Mostly in the first half. Plenty of holding no calls. They seemed to let them play.

It was more $$ value-added for the B1G for us to win Saturday, so the officials were instructed to let the game play out as it would.

This week is different though. I don't think there's much of a $$ difference that is dependent on the outcome. It will be interesting to see how the officials inject themselves, if at all.

Boulder, I believe you mean interject themselves, although a case could certainly be made that the way these bozos typically call our games is evidence that they have injected themselves with some conscience (that's right, not conscious) altering substance pregame!!!

It could be that he was trying to compensate for Gaia pushing the ball forward on every snap. Don't know if the current center for the Steelers does this, but I remember seeing it done in the past. Not all centers do this, but quite a few do. I don't even know what the penalty would be (illegal snap maybe?), and I've never seen it called, but it should be a penalty, or the officials need to compensate for it. Otherwise, it's not really 1st and 10.
