I have heard from very reliable source inside that there is a possibility of a 133 Lb. 6th Year Senior transferring to Penn State for his Last Year. This young man is a three time National Qualifier. He will be on campus this weekend. I can not release his name just in case it does not work out, but I will give some hints he is a two time PA state champion. He is getting a sixth year due to a medical red shirt. From what i have been told it is pretty much a done deal!

if so, then Cortez could go to 141 and Lee could redshirt.

I didn't think it was possible to get a 6th year if you competed in 3 championships?

Corey Keener seems to fit the profile….and Lax beats me to it.

Has to be Keener.

Those are very specific HS criteria: HS Class of 2012, 2x PA state champ, lightweight. Only 2 guys match -- Keener and Rappo. Rappo is at 141 and hasn't missed any years for injury. Keener is at 133 and has.
Laxhawk with the pull if true (and looks like we've zeroed in).

Casey Cunningham connection too (CMU)

So a one-year transfer, post-grad.

I assume he doesn't need any of the 9.9.

Does he take 1 or 2 graduate classes to be eligible ?

How does sports eligibility / athletic scholarships work with graduate students ?

I can just feel the hate building up on interwebs with this info out there.....LOVE IT
Too much respect for the CMU program to say,"if we can scrub the CMU off of him" but do feel working out in the PSU room with all those partners could keep our hopes alive of 10 AAs next year. Still a long shot in my opinion but interesting to see if he can get it done.

He won't be taking any of the 9.9, I'd bet. Maybe working toward a graduate degree. Works the same way it would for any other student. Plenty of football players graduate in 3 years and continue to play

Nice work it is Corey Keener his dad is the Head coach @Pottsville Area was assistant at Blue Mountain. Big connection between Keener and Luke Gardner told they are very close friends. He is also looking at North Carolina according to my source at CMU! Josh Kindig connection there!

So not a done deal then?

Meh. Hardly an "impact move" if it's Keener. Just a warm body.

Didnt say it was an impact move....and if its meh to you thats great.....my comment is towards the internet hatred of all things this team. If you dont think there will a dozenish thread across the wrestling boards oozing with hate....I might try to get a ride on that cruiseliner out of town.

I heard Keener pinned Higuchi at the NLWC, Higuchi needs to hit the Weights Hard!

If there's more than two internet threads complaining about Corey Keener of all people, the world has truly gone mad.

Solidifies our dual lineup and allows for Lee to redshirt. We'll see if a Pa boy coming back home into that room can jump a level now that he would have such a great team around him.

I think it only takes a half level jump. Kid is a damn good wrestler. He gets that extra half level, he has a ceiling of low AA, 6th to 8th.

Ten. All America. Wrestlers.

Hopefully, like Spyker said, Cortez needs to get better on his feet.

HR is too busy with Sanduskypalooza to notice.

Lee probably could've redshirted regardless, but it does solidify the dual lineup.

Yeah, I know they see it as a slight and maybe it will make PSU fans disappear, but time and time again it does the reverse. which makes the situation worse. The haters will never learn.
