It looks like the Jaguars are pretty much throwing the towel in on him or are close to it. Seems likely that Henne will win the opening day starting QB job in Jacksonville. Sort of amazing. He has been so inconsistent but still at times has shown some of what made him such a high pick. I realize it is looking less likely than ever that he puts it all together but he is still only 25.

I would be sort of interested if there was a certain scenario that the Steelers could bring him in, get a fresh start and see what happens. Ben is older and wiser and I am sure it wouldn't hurt Bortles to watch the guy who was one of his main comps going into the draft. Learn from Ben for a few years and grow. Ben probably has at most 2-3 years left. If the Steelers somehow win the Super Bowl this year this might be it.

Just a thought and at worst he would be the best backup on the team and with the way Ben plays that always has value on it's own. Not sure what I think about Dobbs. I guess he improved throughout practice but apparently he improved from horribly awful to just awful.

Bortles has nothing owed to him money-wise next year as of now.

Bortles will be the #2 QB for the Jags behind Henne. He hasn't had anyone one there in Jacksonville who could help him get any better, so he is finding himself in a never-neverland position. Wouldn't mind seeing Matt McGloin getting picked up by The Jags from the Eagles after they likely cut him.

What does this statement mean?

"He hasn't had anyone one there in Jacksonville who could help him get any better"

I think he is saying that there coaching has been AWFUL across the board. I remember some Eagles fans I knew wanted Gus Bradley at one point before the Chip Kelly stuff started. He was just terrible.

Marrone is a good coach though, IMO so maybe if Bortles sticks around he can finally get some coaching.

But Bortles trained all summer. He went to clinics and worked with proessionals.

The Jaguars also hired plenty of people to help Blake learn.

Whether you liked Gus or not, let's be real. Bortles has had plenty of people working with him to teach him.

I haven't seen any of the Eagles preseason games yet but you think they will cut him?
I saw his stat line the other night and thought it was pretty decent.
If they do cut him I hope the Steelers grab him up, Dobbs is a major project and the other guy...ughhhh.

Just laughed so hard that some poop came out

Saw he broke up with his college sweetheart Lindsey Duke too.

The JAGS should hire Jay Paterno as QB coach.
