Maybe it is time to recruit someone better and send a message because it appears that he may think he is not good enough to start in our offense. Let him go some place where he thinks he can play. If you think you can't, you are correct n
I agree with you a lot Mary, but not on this one. The kid appears to be a quality player and I don't think we can cast him aside just because he looks elsewhere.

I wouldn't cast him aside but when a verbal starts to look around elsewhere I think the coaching staff should do the same. IMO this is why we need an early signing period.

People rarely ponder just how tough a gig this "recruiting" is....for everyone involved.

Penn State's Staff - every day - "passes" on kids who are really good kids and really good football players......
And Kids "pass" on Penn State - every day - even though they think highly of PSU and the PSU program and staff.

Its just the way it is, with limitations on scholarship numbers and available positions.

It is just an undeniable aspect of the process.

Unless/until you actually project yourself into the "shoes" of the folks who have to make these decisions (both the prospects and the staff) is impossible to gain empathy for how difficult the process can be.

Can we all agree that something doesn't add up with this young man? He is judged in some circles as a 3 and is rated a composite 4 star recruit. He is not a top 3,4 or 5 player in the country and therefore one might tolerate his flirting ala Micah Parsons.
Keep in mind that he didn't last very long at IMG and came home. Now we are to believe he prefers Nebraska over his home state school?
I've been out of coaching for a long time. I am concerned with his quickness (or lack of) foot work and his ability to get off the ball from a 3 point stance. I keep seeing his feats of strength, which are noteworthy. However, game highlights recording pancakes on 175-200 lb. opponents when you are 310, need to be evaluated with a grain of salt.
I don't think it is out of the question that either he has been told to look around, or that the PSU staff is being honest in their assessment and telling him he will wait his turn to see the field here.
