Poster on 247 claims it was PSU as of yesterday but Iowa came in with $5M NIL offer which may have changed things. No idea if this is credible or not

Or Iowa was just embarrassed with the whole wrestling world talking about it and the man with the money wants to change the narrative right now.
Record NIL screams Iowa. Good. This should keep T&T in power for even longer. I fear DT’s development potential more than Iowa’s. Bo may not need the difference. We know OSU is going to be a force, so a splitting of studs with Iowa gives our position greater margin.
Honestly if it’s $5MM lump sum, Bob should get a higher ROI on this one than he’s seen to-date. His highest return would have been on Taylor, but he only wants to win with the classic Iowa style.

Yep keep thinking that… I told everyone I think Basset is the biggest recruit ever(in terms of skills+get more recruits+ eyes on program)… if Basset really does go okie state, and I’m having a really bad feeling he does… Jax and Melvin miller and younger Basset following him too

As far as PSU goes, yes it really isn't a huge deal if Bassett doesn't come. But I want him at PSU more because he's a local kid. Some good kids have come out of D6/Laurel Highlands Conference, but not many at all of his caliber.

There have some darn impressive D6 kids wrestle at PSU and other schools, but none with his pre-college resume.
I am hoping PSU because I like watching him wrestle and rooting for him. I believe he would make the PSU wrestling community proud.

That's a lot of money, of course. But I don't think money is first in the list of considerations for Bassett. Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps $5.1 mil moves money to the top of the list?
Bassett seems to have some high goals. And iowa likely isn't going to get him there.
If it is Iowa and that kinda money, wonder if kids like Ayala, Ferrari and Arnold are going to be looking to restructure their "contracts"...lol
It's Hawkeye fans. Somehow they will have Bo penciled in at 6 different weights and scoring 42 points at nationals. Each weight, each year.

This is why I have assumed all along he wouldn't land at PSU. Aside from the NIL rumors and pic positioning posted above, I get the impression Bassett wants to make a big splash wherever he lands. That's not PSU. Here he has the potential to be one of many greats in the starting lineup.
Also, some kids are drawn to the underdog role and being the "face" of a program. Everyone is the underdog against PSU and our program has many faces. Also, I assume there could be some pressure from friends, family, coaches, or others to not pic the easy choice and go "anywhere but PSU."
Ayala already faced that issue once.
I think I can root for him to reach another national final, just for the chaos.
