the only other match Wisky won was over Hunter Stieber, who lost in OT. Some reports that he injured his knee in OT.

Hunter was helped off the mat. It didn't look good.
Piling up injuries like Andrew Alton. Great wrestling talent is no safeguard against disabling injuries. Sad to see this happening to Hunter.
Am not a Tom Ryan fan and, like all Penn Staters, revile all things Ohio State. Having said that, I feel terrible for Hunter Steiber. His unrealized talent due to injury is sad to see, a lot like a couple of our own.
Very sad to see it happen to anyone. Hunter has had much of the same issues that derailed the Altons. Matt McDonough had his career hampered at the end. Jesse Delgado was a shell of himself as he tried to comeback and wrestle. ISU had a very promising wrestler named Nick Gallick who was one of my favorites. Nick had a solid career but just never was at full health. Injuries rob the young men and to a lesser degree rob us as fans. I take no pleasure in any wrestler being injured. The sacrifices these young athletes endure to be on the mat is unreal. Jake deitchler was perhaps the saddest to me. We really missed getting to watch a special kid wrestle for that dual meet juggernaut that is Jammez Golden Gophers.
What are the basics on the Jordan family of wrestlers? Is the current Congressman from Ohio, Jim Jordan, a 2-time NCAA champ, I believe, the father of the Jordan boys at tOSU? And Isaac.....is he indeed a cousin? and from the same town in Ohio? Other prominent wrestlers in the family tree?
James, speaking of ISU on this topic, I heard that Nate Carr's younger brother, Solomon, had his career severely impacted by injury at ISU. Believe it or not, Solomon broke most of Nate's high school records (believe he still holds the record for most matches won in a season in Pennsylvania) - believe he tore up his ankle his rsFR year (I think it may have even been one of his first matches of the year). He had reconstructive surgery, went trhough rehab and then tore re-injured his ankle upon returning to the mat (Hit this link).
Thank you very much for the link. The Carr family is pretty special. How is Mike Carr who also wrestled for ISU related? Cousin?

Michael is another one of the brothers. Became an AA after transferring to West Virginia. Wrestled him growing up. He was tough as nails.
Thank you again. I remember the legend of Jimmy Carr, but never had the pleasure of watching him compete. Quite the family! That must have been a competitive household growing up.No, I believe he is the youngest of the Carr brothers (think there were 8 boys and 4 girls in the family -- Jimmy Carr, the youngest wrestler in US Team history to make the Olympic team which he did at the age of 16, was the oldest). Jimmy died a couple years ago in 2013 - here is his obituary. I believe the Carr's also set an NCAA record with 5 brothers attaining All-American status - Jimmy, Fletcher, Nate, Solomon and Michael I believe.
I thought so, but the article didn't mention him at all. He was younger. He was in the line up in 1987-88 I'm pretty sure with Tim Krieger,Jeff Gibbons, and Eric Voelker. It all blends together after awhile.

I think Michael might have transferred to WVU and I believe Nate briefly coached at WVU. Another well known wrestling family in Erie via Tech Memorial, the Costello's, sent two kids to WVU - RJ and Craig Costello. I think Solomon overlapped a couple years at Tech with Craig Costello if I remember correctly.
