Bo's Getting Better!!

Depends on the draw. He wasn't beating Dean either way, and never came close to beating Nate Brown. Good success against Dudley and a few others.
How about the other 3 or 4 people he was losing to before forfeiting his match. I will say Suriano has a better chance of being top 4 then Cutch ever seeing the podium at 184. Bo could own 184 except against the champ.

Typical Tognetti, distortions and false choices.
1. In most of those matches McCutcheon was tied or winning before getting hurt, gave up a score while hurt and then defaulted.
2. McCutcheon was an OT loss away from the national semifinals as a freshman.
3. Suriano could be top 4 AND Mouse reach the podium.

He's (perhaps mostly) right about the last sentence: Bo can hold his own at either weight except (possibly) Dean.

A healthy Cutch would have probably made the finals last year. A lot of people forget that. As far as I am concerned, health is the only question for him. If he is healthy, he will be on the podium, and likely very high on it.
Not seeing it. His ranking got as high as #3 I believe, but that was very suspect. An optimistic #5 is where I saw him.

I personally don't listen to the room rumors...or even the stuff that gets reported from those that go and see things for themselves.

It's called practice, and the guys are working on their skills...trying new things and taking chances, working hard on improving. Not a good recipe for stating factually that "wrestler A is beating wrestler B". And for the guys that are really in touch with their improvement areas, they seek out a wrestler that will help them (such as seeking out Zain if you want to work on getting out from bottom ;)).

True "wrestle-offs", to determine a starter, are infrequent, and more serious. The difference is obvious.
To seek out Zain, for bottom work, requires that you are a Masochist.;)

I see my winkie-face had it's desired effect. Thanks for the good humor guys!!

Cutch was undefeated prior to getting hurt and beat the losing finalist after he got hurt. He was one point away from teching the guy who finished third in the weight class before he got hurt. So he beat the 2nd and 3rd place guys in the weight class. I don't think saying he would have made the finals if he had stayed healthy is a stretch.

I understand the want to go to 184 to better prep for 86kg freestyle, but why this season ?

It's 4 years from an Olympic cycle.

It's a red carpet stroll to the 174 final this year for about, and it helps his college team out.

184 is a minefield with a beast in Dean waiting at the end.

Keep waiting for this talk of Bo to 184 to dissipate however it doesn't seem to want to go away. It makes so much more sense to have him at 174 for one more year if Hall is redshirting; really hope thats where he ends up.

Not so sure about this. There are several guys Bo can't have a bad day against -- but, really, other than Dean, all of them should be more concerned about Bo at 184 than he should be about them.

After Dean, the next biggest landmine is probably Zahid, who's proven to be a difficult matchup for Bo on feet and is reportedly going 174 this year. The next biggest after that might be Tan Bo. Crutchmer and Jackson are probably comparable to anyone else at 184 (again, other than Dean) -- he should beat them but can't mess up.

174 is definitely an easier path to the quarters, and maybe the semis. He'd probably also get more bonus at 174 than 184.

Cael has already said Bo is going 174 and Hall is redshirting this season so message board talk about 184 is just that, talk and speculation. That said, I doubt the decision is actually 100% made at this point. Bo at 174 is better for the team, however, if the cut is enough to negatively impact his performance at 174 then Ceal would probably have him move up to 184.

My understanding is that Bo going up has nothing to do with inability to make 174

Agree. I wouldn't think 'Bo struggling to make 174' even has a realistic place in this otherwise totally & completely realistic conversation on an internet message board.
