Breaking down Nick Bowers TD

In this clip we look at how Sean Clifford's coverage read led to his ability to make a quick decision and an accurate throw on Nick Bower's touchdown
My seats were at the 40 on the boundary side (Clifford left). Incredible to see the corner come off of Bowers leaving him wide open. When I saw the 2 x 2 I said the ball was going to Bowers, if nothing else he has such a size advantage over the corner.

These clips are tremendous PSB thanks a LOT.

??

They were thinking, "we want to blitz Clifford on this down." Worked well for Pitt last weekend.
Come on fish? Really they rushed 5 and the played zone w 6!!! How you gonna do dat?
Hell most don’t even run a 4.6 !! Teasing but reallt u can’t rush 5 n play zone at that end of the field

What am I missing here?

What's wrong with playing zone at your own end of the field? The more backed up you are, the smaller the zones, and hence the more it makes sense to play zone. No?

Nothing wrong w playing zone ur end of the field. They rushed 5 leaves 6 to cover. PSU was at the 15, that’s a lot of ground to cover w 6 guys in zone , IMO, you still have short and deep zone to cover. They could have played 3 on 2 to each side with 2 short and 1 deep leaving the middle open, but they didn’t Plus rushing 5 is almost suicide to a D as the O can block them all easily
So you need to overload to make an effective rush, like bring 6 or 7. Or rush 3 and cover w 8.
What MD did was the worse of both worlds between covering and rushing
If they want to rush 5 then play man free behind it and at least give your kids a chance
