Wrestling BREAKING: Mason AND Erik Gibson Announce Commitments To PSU

It's about Erik wanting to put himself in the best position to succeed.

Holy cow, this is a great grab. Erik seems like a great kid with lots of upside. He looks like a different level athlete. He looks bigger, what does he weigh? I would say 180? Wonder what weight?

PSU loves the crazy athletic type.. Now comes the big question. When do we get his brother, Forest and Bassett?
Getting into that Mcort room is important. I like PA talent staying in PA. I beat Cornell isn’t happy. Yanni loses and now they lose the Gibsons. Rough day in NY

Hopefully the adults at McCort are not included.
Weird comment. I don’t know them personally. I have spoken to Mr Gibson at M2 a few times but talked to the wrestlers more, all those kids are really nice people, class acts, good role models and that has to come from their parents & people they are around. But like most things I am sure if comes from plain old jealousy.

I am so happy they didn’t get fed up with PIAA so much and Pennsylvania, they leave the state. Great to have you guys staying home.

Welcome to PSU Gibson boys

It's the weekend. I usually get "axed" first thing Monday morning..
Honestly, I have done no trolling (with the exception of offering to speak a little more slowly and with smaller words for bnicolls), just presenting information and arguments for discussion that counter the dominant narrative over there - so I expect there will be no room for me soon.

Might steal the toilet seats and flush levers before they evict me.

There’s certainly going to be some big battles in the room the next few years with SVN, Kasak, Gibson, Haines, Sealey, Facundo, Barr, and Ryder all between 49-84 with multiple years of eligibility. Will be exciting to see how it all works itself out.

What are these two kids' credentials that indicate they are gonna make an impact? not being argumentative, just wondering.

The little Gibson is #12 on Willie's Junior big board. Older Gibson I think Willie had around #7 at his weight his Senior year. Not sure where he was on Willie's big board.

I’ve been hoping someone goes in-depth in their credentials myself. That said, anyone originally committed to Cornell is a welcome addition.

Mason is a 5 time PJW champ. Won Super 32 as an 8th grader. 2 time Fago champ I believe. Finished 2nd his freshman year at PIAA states. Injured sophomore year and did not wrestle.
Losing the state final (and especially the way he lost) was a surprise, despite Ungar being a former NJ state champ. Mason was dominant that year as a freshman.

Before Ungar, he was 21-0 with 16 TFs. His only 2 regular decisions were 5-1 over Steen and 11-6 over 2x champ Mac Church. He also twice majored state finalist Owen Reinsel.

Eric not as heralded. Was a two time piaa state placer, 3rd as a freshman and 6th as sophomore and was not allowed to wrestle at states his junior and senior year because of McCort transfer. Ranked #1 in state his Senior year. Also was a double AA at Fargo that year. I'm thinking Willie had him around #50 on his big board.

Yeah I was shocked. But then didn't Ungar beat an elite recruit a week or two later in an All Star match that kinda showed he was for real? Maybe I'm misremembering that part.
