Bresee announcement today?

Going to Clemson. Article said could be Clemson's overall best recruiting class ever. He had 96% prediction indicator to them so it wasn't a shocker at all. He said nice things about his PSU experience. I wish him the best.
With what I'm hearing it will be Clemson greatest class ever. Could possibly sign 8 to 10 five star players.

This is why I am not a recruiting guru. Back when we were allegedly in consideration I watched him in one of the summer gatherings against kids his own size (if you will) with high skill sets and he did not dominate. Now he's young and will probably improve as he gets bigger and stronger, but his rating seemed a trifle high. IMO.

Like I said, I'm not a guru and maybe I missed something. No matter, he will get better and Clemson is killing it... again.

Did you see him at the camp a couple weeks ago? While he didnt get by the OL every play, he got by Parks and plenty of 4star guys with regularity. That being said, he said he thinks Golden A will be a great OL for PSU

I did not see that... just what I saw earlier last summer... I'm sure he's much better and we'll miss having him.

Gracias!
The rich get richer!!!!

Yeah, it gets really tough for "everyone else" when you no longer have to work as hard to recruit these kids. Lol you think Saban or Dabo has to work as hard as Franklin? I don't think so...

With that being said, PSU has to get over this hump somehow...

Over/under on how long until Clemson gets exposed for paying players. NVM NCAA now emasculated...thanks to Sandusky. The irony

Just need few really good seasons and the players will come.
Another 4 loss season and PSU will take huge step back in recruiting.
Unlikely. Franklin is getting kids their degrees and putting them in the league. The stands are filled. His job is safe.

The downside to Franklin's business model is to have perpetually young teams. 9-4 once in a while is to be expected.

Who are they paying? The stuff they do is legal and really nothing compared to what most of the SEC does.

Bison, did you see the ESPN article yesterday about Bresee's commitment. They published that Penn State was the early favorite for Bresee, and then overtaken by Georgia, and then Ohio State, and then Clemson as the final decision. The wording that ESPN used in that story said they spoke to Bresee about the timeline of his favorite schools. Is that accurate, or did it come down to a Clemson vs. Penn State decision as you have alluded to in the past? Thanks for your feedback.

9-4 (or the rough equivalent of that) in Joe’s era was to be expected as well.

First crystal balls over a year ago were all for MD, lol. But I would say that from the onset it was PSU/OSU/UGA in some order for a long time. Bama and UM were tokens on his list. Clemson was never in that mix until the last 4 months. Dabo and staff came to about 6 basketball games, Franklin was at 1, some other PSU coaches at 1 or 2 others. Kirby Smart at 1, other UGA guys at 1 or 2 others. Saban at 1, and Day and Johnson at a couple but they were coming to basketball practice weekly. He loved LJ, I thought for a while OSU had taken the lead because he was here so much. But one of his tells always had PSU at least #2 until he came back from teh last Clemson trip.

So safe to say ...CJF and staff got outworked on this one a lil bit??

It will be interesting to see how the new transfer portal might alter his strategy. Giving most every kid carte-blanche to transfer after 3 seasons as a graduate probably isn't the best model to put the best FB team on the field.

Bison, you should ask Bresee where he thinks Julian Fleming is going to commit to. I know Bresee and Fleming talk quite a bit.

Yes... I forgot that when I saw him he was a junior going head to head with seniors and he still did well.. just didn't dominate. My guess is he is much better now and it's going to be tough seeing another one (hello Christian Wilkins) go to Clemson.

BTW, can anyone from Michigan say whether it seemed like R Gary improved much during his time there? He was unstoppable coming out of HS but never really seemed to take it to the next level physically. Now whether that's because he was oft injured or I just watched the wrong games (insert smiley face)... I'm not sure. Either way, the NFL has him going top 10 so I'm guessing they saw plenty to make them smile.

How do you figure that? PSU was early offer. He visited Clemson and didn't like it as staff didn't give him much attention. He called them out, and got more attention.

He was flipping all over the place. First PSU, then OSU, then Georgia, and then Clemson.

Seems more like Wilkins. They weren't even recruiting him.

Did you read his post. A staff from much further was physically present more often in his recruiting process. Simple as that. And it may not have been the ultimate factor in the kids decision, but I’m sure it didn’t hurt

I love CJF. He’s a recruiting machine. Judging by Bisons post here and earlier in the process, it appears to me that Clemson outworked him a bit on this one.

I read an interview with Bresee where he said what I posted.

He also said in another interview that Clemson felt like home and he loves his position coach and Venerables schemes. Also said his position coach had kept it real. This interview said nothing about PSU.

CJF can't win them all. Why are you speculating that he got outworked when you have no evidence of that? Do you know how many times Spencer, Pry and CJF were in contact? Do you know what Bresee told them? Do you have an idea what they talked about? Maybe, just maybe, Bresee told them he was going somewhere else and not to waste their time. I don't know and neither do you.
