DT is iconic. He was never my favorite (I’m a Ruth and Nolf guy in the main), but he was awesome and always brought it on the mat for us. It does speak volumes that a guy as classy as Nolf has not congratulated him on his position (at least as far as I know) and the younger guys aren’t falling over themselves to praise him.

I’m team @McScoreley now - DT is the enemy now. Cael must crush him, drive him off, and hear the lamentations of his woman.

It’s not personal; it’s business.

How come God gets all the credit when a wrestler wins a match, but none of the blame when a child gets bone cancer?
What blame? My wife had a son many years ago that was born with problems. She asked God what the purpose was to have a special needs baby. Years of trials and tribulation later, she start a health care company that specializes in helping special needs children. Very rewarding.

There is no credit or blame. That is fleeting. It’s about the lesson and what you do with it. That is lasting,

As someone who also has people close to him born with more challenges than most, I salute you for that. It is reassuring that someone is picking up the slack.

That’s a pretty awesome story. God bless your wife. 👍

I don't know Brooks personally, but he strikes me as sincere in everything he says and does. I do know David Carr very well and he is the guy you want your child to be like and your daughter to marry. I know David loves Brooks like a brother and trusts him absolutely. That is enough for me. Please tell Brooks he is creating too much drama in State College and needs to move to Ames;)

Well, Aaron Brooks has broken his silence and it definitely sounds like this is much ado about nothing. I don't have the link, but he did an interview on Baschmania and explained. This doesn't even rise to the level of a snafu and frankly, the idea that he's been involved in the use of PEDs is a bit over the top in my opinion. As usual, if people had just waited for the facts, they could have avoided a lot of unnecessary damage to the guy's reputation and probably could have avoided some personal stress.

Let me know when that shut one's mouth and wait for the facts becomes human nature.

But seriously, no one is going to change their mind, the back-and-forth only serves to get someone who doesn’t agree with you riled up. Life is too short for stuff like that, isn’t it?
I know. I feel like it is useful to occasionally point out what I see as the ridiculousness of the whole thing, but I don't delude myself about anyone switching sides.

Makes sense. I'm perfect, I created you intentionally to be you are imperfect that's your fault so you could learn some important stuff. You can do this! See you when you get home.

FIFY.

People switch sides every day, though probably rarely in an online forum like this.

IMO, belief in God and/or religiosity is not a prerequisite to having good values or a high moral character. But when I look back at the times I have been happiest and living my best version of being a good friend, neighbor, brother, and son, those times always dovetail with when I felt closest to my God and was trying to align my will to His as best I understand it.

As a natural skeptic, I recognize the allure of atheism, or at least the profession of it. But its been my observation that atheism is an intellectual luxury that tends to abandon its adherents when it matters most.

Not trying to start or prolong a debate. I come here only for the wrestling talk. I respect your right to (dis)believe whatever you want. Just offering an alternative viewpoint since you broached the subject.

Well, as has often been stated here and elsewhere, everyone has a right to their own opinion. But with that in mind, I’ll give the same advice to everyone who disagrees with my point of view as I give to my wife.

“You certainly have a right to your own opinion, but keep in mind that whenever you disagree with me, that’s a very strong indication that you are wrong.” 😆

Brantt is a loser with an ax to grind.
Curiosity finally caught me and I went over to the 247 board to see what deep throat intel was there.

First, didn’t they used to have a PSU wrestling forum? WTH happened? A single thread is utter insanity. I’d rather we all join a group text—at least it would be ad free, lol.

2nd, I didn’t really learn anything new. DT’s first meeting with OSU was in Vegas? Is that supposed to be meaningful? U20/U17 nationals were there.

Otherwise the place had some serious cesspool vibes, IMO.

Trying to find reliable, honest, and unbiased intel anywhere is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

nobody who is sane is arguing that either one provides a legit enhancement. if it provided a significant enhancement, you wouldn’t be able to get an exception for them with a simple prescription.
You can't get a TUE with "a simple prescription." You need to go through a process documenting your condition, demonstrating that the use of a banned substance is the only or most preferred treatment, and, of course, doing it prior to an AAF. There is a reason each substance is on the banned list, and it wouldn't be there if there was no enhancement or other reason (like masking).

There is a reason that elite athletes have historically shown sharp rises in the frequency of medical conditions that were used to explain their use of banned substances, and it ain't due to increasingly poor health. Think "asthma" and inhalers as an example.

It is *ludicrous* that this is what you decided to jump back into the fray with after a month of licking your wounds.

Can we change the subject for awhile?
Hoping for a Ferrari thread change?

Great talk about the hero's in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Excerpt from my Great-Great Grandfathers' Memorial in the Lehigh Valley PA. I come from many generations of tenant farmers in that area. Poorer than dirt, but they did what they had to do for their country and beliefs. And for building a foundation that enabled me to be the first one in the family to go to college (along with great support from a guidance counselor in high school)

My grandson has Phelan McDermid syndrome. Will never be verbal and needs 24/7 care. The parents amaze me and I am most proud of my son more than anything for the father he has become.

Speaking of historical figures, my grandmother's last name before she was married was Allen. Someone in her family had a Bible where a list was written of her/our family lineage going way back to the 1700's. One of the names that appears is Ethan Allen - the same Ethan Allen that captured Fort Ticonderoga from the British during the American Revolution.

Then he started a chain of high end furniture stores and the rest is history.

Great post to read after watching videos much of the day about our National Anthem and Flag. I couldn't get over the reactions from people all over the word after seeing a video about the story of how our Anthem came to be. Here's just one of them..

I love how many people from, Ireland, New Zealand to Great Britain say they will never view our National Anthem in the same way.

Actually, a chubby young fellow named Henry Knox who was a Boston bookseller with no apparent military aptitude chopped up a bunch of high end furniture and made it into sleds. Then he led a team that made a Herculean effort to drag all of the cannon at Ft Ticonderoga across 300 miles of countryside to Boston where they used it to chase the Brits out of town. ( I don't know if he really used furniture to make the sleds, but the rest is all real history.) 👍

My grandmother has traced our lineage back to Ethan Allen as well. Guess we're family! Ha

Originally from upstate New York. Settled in the Lehigh Valley.
My grandmother is from NY too! When my dad was born, they lived in Jamestown which is on the western end of the state. Interesting - I'll bet we are related!

So, sorry to take things back on topic, but it's getting kinda late in the week. Hopefully word will come out soon that AB is good to go for Paris....
Whoever makes those decisions can't wait forever. We need to know soon if it's going to be AB. If not, I assume that the alternate would be DT. Either way, I think the other wrestlers are going to find out that the US is going to be their bad draw at that weight.
