How does this impact their draft strategy, especially in terms of Saquon?

It seems like all the teams that are projected to draft a QB have signed one in free agency. Now all the teams that may draft Barkley are signing RBs. I really think this is making sure they have someone capable, although having the first pick in the draft, you can get whoever you want.

A few talking heads have mentioned that Dorsey got Kareem Hunt last year in the third round, so he may not be willing to pull the trigger on a RB so early in the draft. Interesting situations developing.

Weird. I'm hearing Bridgewater to the Jets.

At this point, I'll be shocked if Barkley ends up with the Browns.

Dorsey has one focus; fix the QB problem. Can't argue with that. But if Barkley is there at #4 and the Browns don't take him, I'll be angry. Dorsey is on record, while at KC, as saying you can get a good RB deep in the draft. With so many good RBs this draft, he'll probably wait to grab a RB in the second or third round. Many project Guice to be there in the early second round (where the browns have two picks). KC picked up a pro-bowl RB last season in the 3rd round from Toledo who gained over 1300 yards.

Also, more and more noise that the Bills will trade with either the Colts or Browns to get the 3rd or 4th pick, respectively.

For Barkley? Yeah, I'm thinking the same.
I think a lot depends on who the Giants think they are: a team, let by an aging (37) HoF QB with one more run at a SB in them or a team rebuilding. If the former, a good RB will help. If the latter, draft a QB and start building.

To tell you the truth, I can't quite understand why they haven't yet bailed on Manning.

I think the Giants view this as more of an O-line problem, if they draft Barkley who are they gonna sign to help the O-line?

I think the Giants either draft a QB (which would be the smart thing if they like any of the qbs) or trade back to the Jets, Broncos or Bills and fill a lot of holes that way...

Wouldn't be surprised if the Browns are positioning themselves to trade that #1 pick for more picks to a team in the middle of the draft (picks 10-15) and that team take Barkley in front of the Giants.

Barkley is a Jets fan. He must like to punish himself both physically AND mentally.
LOL. Got a good laugh. But, seriously, I'd love to see him go to New York one way or another. I've heard talk with "faces of the NFL" attached to Barkley. I'm not interested in an arguments of the merits of this, but his personality and talent in New York have the potential to make him a superstar. He's an extremely likable, well-spoken man and I believe that there are a lot of people out there who will soon love him as we do.

The Browns don't need more early round picks. I mean, yes, this is possible but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They should either take the best QB available, Chubb or Barkley and take BPA at 4.

Every year surprises.....wonder what the over is for how may spots Barkley could fall. Haven't heard to much discussion on this. Don't matter one bit he's gonna be awesome anyway it goes.

It wasn't until the Taylor trade that I started thinking of Barkley at #1. I thought it much more likely that he'd go to the Giants. We'll see. You're right, we're going to see some remarkable plays from Barkley this year, cannot wait.

I agree- but if you need a QB, you have to assume you won't get to draft second too often. If there is a QB you like a lot, go QB. The Steeler's only got Roethlisburger because they sucked bad enough one year to draft #11.

Agree...but if you feel you've got a shot at the SB by doing some tinkering, say adding a top flight DE or CB, you are bypassing a big opportunity in 2018.

I'm not sure the Giants want a QB controversy after the shit show that happened last year with the benching of Manning. Both the GM and coach lost their jobs over that mess.

I've just twice deleted a complete post in response to this. I'm giving up and am admitting that I can't make heads or tails out of this.

This is what happened with the benching.

It was followed by this.

If they draft another QB and Manning struggles, there's a chance that there will be grumbling to play the rookie. Hence the QB controversy. It seems the owner of the Giants didn't take kindly to the benching of Eli and want him starting. Maybe I'm wrong.
