Sure i was chippy when i first posted here probably trying to defend my Hawkeyes but Tom straightened me out pretty quick and i learned my place. I havent been banned from any wrestling board just yet. Thats probably because i know to ease off the gas pedal when trouble is ahead..

Go ahead Turk, show every one here exactly how I "poked the bear". I made exactly one comment there that I wasn't proud of and I apologized for it. Can't remember exactly what it was but it was a dig about the Ramos fiasco. So really, I'm curious to know what I did or saidover there that deserved to be banned. I encourage you or anyone else who cares to go through my history there and spell out exactly how I poked the bear. Jtownsteel and Johnstownsteel are the two handles for you to search. You tell me what I did to serve being banned over there.

Chief, you got pissed off because I agreed with one of the Hawkeye fans when he said "at least we aren't peaking early" after many of you thought the team underperformed early in the season. This is what I mean by you guys being sensitive. You immediately felt I was "poking the bear" after a lackluster performance when in fact I was defending the team,the fan that said it and the coaching staff who in years past was accused of not having their team peak at just the right time like Cael seems to do.

While I'm here, I'll lay out a few things I said over there that drew my biggest criticism. What you called poking the bear, while I called it just giving my honest opinion. I thought PD2 would beat Brooks this year if the two meet. Still do. To you guys, I was poking the bear. I also felt strongly Suriano would lose two close matches to Gilman and come tournament time the two would be a tossup match. To you guys I was poking the bear while it was and still is my honest opinion. I said I felt Iowa would not win more than one championship in the first two weight classes this year. You guys said I was poking the bear. I also felt Sorenson would finish 3-4 this year. Still do. Lastly, I argued that Iowa was not the second best team in the nation. It's my opinion, still is and you guys get all sensitive and consider it poking the bear. Ya see, these were all topics started by one of your own fans yet I give an opinion and I'm just poking the bear because I said something you didn't want to hear. You guys are so sensitive, you verbally rape Willie over there because Flo no longer has Lee #1 on their big board. Christ, is that really that big of a deal anyway??

Btw, I wear nothing proudly outside of what my children do in their lives and what they accomplish. I still read the board over there, just can't post. That works out just fine. You spend an awefull lot of your time on HR, this board and...well...I see you post just about everywhere. These boards mean more to you than they do me. You're crazy if you feel i think enough about them to come here to beat my chest because I was banned over at HR. That's just silly...

I had some fun, innocent chain pulling with some of the guys there but then this particular DB started on me because he was pissed they lost. Then they lost again the following week.

I don't think you said anything terribly offensive over there. I think you got banned because you were overly persistent and annoying in not dropping an argument a couple of times. Like Turk said, you were "poking the bear". You probably shouldn't have been banned but whatever. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm.

They can ban you and you can keep on going. No worries. I have been banned with 6 or 7 of my personas over there, but at least I have 4 still working fine. I post 4-5 posts with each one everyday. I have the big ISU hating/Minn. hating MitchL, Gobblin, Weh8iast8, and WildTurk all still work fine. Is there anything you want me to say over there johnstownsteel? I have you covered.

That's fair. If you like Iowa than Gilman is your guy but some of our fans get tired of it too. I think he gets it and is one of those rare people who just doesn't care either way. I am a win and run off kind of guy myself. In my profession, I taught a lot of classes to pilots and was OK with public speaking. The worst thing anybody could do to me is make the subject about me as happened yesterday at my retirement ceremony. The worst five minute speech ever...haha. But people are motivated by different things and I think Gilman feeds off of it. He might have to do this every once in awhile after he leaves the sport. :

HR always defends Gilman. Watching the Iowa-OSU dual last night, I was excited that Gilman would finally finish a match without acting like a complete douche. Once again, Gilman predictably proved me wrong. Gilman is a tough wrestler but I just can't stand to watch due to his complete lack of sportsmanship. I know he is trying to revive the intimidating spirit of Iowa's past. My question for Gilman would be: how has that tough guy persona worked out for you in the last 5 years? We are....!

Not sure what you mean by nameless. Real name or username because I know exactly which forum member banned me. Lol. In fact he sent me a pm when I joined for the second time welcoming and letting me know not to break any forum rules or I'd be gone again.

Chief, I've never bragged about it my man...only explained my part in it when asked. Nothing more....nothing less. And my part in it all was absolutely nothing considering I didn't break one single rule there. I can see how you took it as me bragging though because I did like calling out the mods of HR when asked about it here. When you have fans over on HR calling out the folks that monitor BWI and saying they throw the ban hammer around here for no reason then I take offense to that. In my opinion the guys here are far and away more tolerant to rival fans than they are over at HR.

I've read the HR board for several years. MAYBE posted once or twice although I can't remember specifically. Lots of good info on the team. I may be in the minority, but if we didn't win I'd prefer Iowa win than either of the OSUs (and certainly Cornell as well).
I look at these boards like someone's house. I wouldn't go over to someone's house and tell them their "kid" is an idiot. Likewise, if they're in their house and call one of my "kids" an idiot I let it roll of my back. If they come over here and do it, then I'd speak up.
On the current team, I really like Clark, of course Kemmerer, the Mullet, Topher, Meyer is growing on me. The kid at 97 is going to be OK and 65 as well. I can't stand Gillman. I'll leave it at that. When half of their starting lineup is from Western PA I'm going to like them even more. I generally enjoy the Brands brother despite the matside antics. I mean really, there should be a law in Iowa that only the statue can give the stall signal.
As for the fans, I've never had a single issue with them in person. I did think they had a sparse crowd last night, then I realized it was just a helluva lot of people with camo on.
