Can you believe it's just four days until Penn State kicks off it's 2018 season with the opener against Appalachian State this Saturday, Sept.1. It's game week and preseason practice is over.
But let's look back and see who the movers and shakers were in preseason practice. Guys BWI believe will have a real impact on Penn State's upcoming 2018 season. Of course there are the obvious players like WR K.J. Hamler, Will OLB Micah Parsons, DE Yetur Gross-Matos, C Michal Menet, DB Tariq Castro-Fields and DE Shareef Miller.
And then the not so obvious like CB Donovan Johnson, OL Desmond Holmes and freshman TE Pat Freiermuth. Plus we also know from James Franklin's press conference that seven members of the class of 2018 will have "green shirts" this fall. Coach Franklin identified six of the seven at his press conference today. They are: Freiermuth [TE], RB Ricky Slade, Parsons [Will OLB], MLB /Will OLB Jesse Luketa, DT P.J. Mustipher and PK Jake Pinegar. That number would have been eight if WR Justin Shorter had not gotten nicked in preseason practice.
