I think the rule sucks, but he landed on top of Carr and technically that’s a penalty.DE sacks Carr and grabs ball from him on way down. The refs call roughing the passer and give first down to LV. WTF??
it should be reviewable if they think there was intent to hurt QB. Clearly the player hit Carr who lost control of ball, player grabbed it then fell to ground. Are the laws of physics not applicable in the NFL now? It is absurdI think the rule sucks, but he landed on top of Carr and technically that’s a penalty.
Otherwise known as a "tackle"He purposely put all his weight on the QB. Good calll
Correct call. NFL sucks, I stick to college.it should be reviewable if they think there was intent to hurt QB. Clearly the player hit Carr who lost control of ball, player grabbed it then fell to ground. Are the laws of physics not applicable in the NFL now? It is absurd
I really hope college doesnt go this way. Would ruin the sport for me.Why not just play flag football that’s what it’s coming to
He’s been getting those calls for years - embarrassing for the NFL.Not as bad as the roughing the passer on Brady yesterday but they need to review the rule
Not disagreeing but how about basic change like on a QB fumble, all bets are off. KC won last night but if they lost, you could point to that play as a big reason. Fans, KC players and commentators were up in arms after the game even with Chiefs win.Look, the reason these things happen is because the owners want their investment protected. They want it this way. It's just another way of the wealthy, you'll watch and like it. Those quarterbacks are worth a lot of money to a franchise because you can't win without one and if you win their is big, big bucks in it for you.
I've been wondering why players don't wear the padded helmets like Penn State does in practice in games? What's the big deal? Optics? Seriously, just wear the extra padded helmets in games, I don't think it inhibits performance but it obviously enhances safety.Tua's concussion protocol, return to the game then going out again the next week on a sling type tackle is the primary reason for the calls this past weekend. The referees were very likely told to flag anything that looks like the sling.
Referines already saying Hold my beerWait until Saturday to make judgement. Can you say referine?
You know you're right. I didn't see until the replay that the DL actually stole the ball from Carr while before they both went to the ground. Seems to me that shouldn't be a foul even under the current rule.it should be reviewable if they think there was intent to hurt QB. Clearly the player hit Carr who lost control of ball, player grabbed it then fell to ground. Are the laws of physics not applicable in the NFL now? It is absurd
Except he had the ball and the QB was a tackler, no longer a QB. Do RBs get called for putting their full weight on the tackler? He purposely put all his weight on the QB. Good calll
the ref stated, after the game, he is the QB on the play regardless of outcome. He was not a runner. So he enjoys those protections no matter if he had the ball or not. I am not stating that this is right or wrong, just what the ref said.Except he had the ball and the QB was a tackler, no longer a QB. Do RBs get called for putting their full weight on the tackler?
Thanks, Obli. I did not know that. Now I wonder why QBs aren't pulling people on top of them after every pick they throw.the ref stated, after the game, he is the QB on the play regardless of outcome. He was not a runner. "The quarterback is in the pocket and he's in a passing posture," Cheffers explained to ESPN's Adam Teicher in the postgame pool report. "He gets full protection of all the aspects of what we give the quarterback in a passing posture. So, when he was tackled, my ruling was the defender landed on him with full body weight. The quarterback is protected from being tackled with full body weight. My ruling was roughing the passer for that reason."
IMHO the league is over reacting to the Tua thing. QBs, like everyone else, are going to get hurt from time to time. The league screwed up their concussion protocol in Tua's case, and they are doing a bit of CYA.Thanks, Obli. I did not know that. Now I wonder why QBs aren't pulling people on top of them after every pick they throw.
Then it needs to be consistentLook, the reason these things happen is because the owners want their investment protected. They want it this way. The camera guy already filed a police report. Adams should be suspended for a significant time for that. The fact he's claiming he instantly regretted it yet didn't even stop to check on the guy or help him out is just another lie. He knew what he did. Hope the guys makes some serious cash off Adams even though I typically hate that stuff.Worse than the call was the player shoving a cameraman just doing his job because he was mad he didn't win.
F-ing pathetic.
Note to player, if not for the camera's no tv money, no tv money no big paychecks.
But the player is uber competitive. Hahaha, what a joke.
Ehhh--it seems like the majority of women and men support the comment--it's only a small percent that make everything an issue that are making negative comments about itI got a kick out of Troy Aikman's twist of Jack Lambert's line (not the walkon QB but the Steeler HoF linebacker) "let them wear skirts." However, JL said this back when that was acceptable. Today, Aikman took a risk as the NFL panders to female viewers in this day and age.
Well Ole Ted and facts never belong in the same sentence.Except he had the ball and the QB was a tackler, no longer a QB. Do RBs get called for putting their full weight on the tackler?
isn't that what the pro bowl is going to?Why not just play flag football that’s what it’s coming to
