Trolling? I don't interpret it that way. Enthusiasm for recruiting the area while driving the point home with some good natured humor. Nothing wrong with that.
Wish we had one in the Orlando area. I have beento the one in Ft Lauderdale many times.
I used to take church members from Warren to Presbyterian Hospital near the University of Pittsburgh. That entire area is so gloomy that I am amazed any athlete would seriously consider living four years in the slums if other scholarships are available.
I don't consider it trolling it either. It is recruiting an important region. Trolling would be responding to pitt athletic supporters with pictures of empty Heinz Field while questioning the pitt gameday experience.

Oakland is far from a dump and not at all what you describe. Take the blue and white sunglasses off the next time you go.
I appreciate the shot at the Pitt fans, but let me go on record as saying I am not enamored with a Primanti's sandwich. It's OK, but nothing to get excited about.

It absolutely is a dump compared to State College.

It's ironic... I don't find CJF's tweet to be "trolling" or inflamitory in any way, but you twisting it into an anti Pitt post is what I would consider trolling. When are you people going to let go of Pitt. They aren't our rival... they are a school and football program that happens to be located in prime recruiting territory. Nothing more or less. If you stop calling them out all of the time, maybe they will do the same and we'll have a touch more sanity in our world.
They're getting a 0* S from Central Catholic tonight. Be a real embarrassment if he chooses someone else. The funny thing is that the 412crew, or whatever they call themselves, still have not had a single Pitt commit. They may end up with a few, but most of the good ones are going elsewhere. That recruiting class is just too bad, and their best commit of the 3 they have is just biding his time before he decommits and goes elsewhere. Good players want to be part of good classes.
Absolutely agree. I'll take a Roast Pork Sandwich from Tommy Di'nics (sp?) or any New York Deli Sandwich or slice over the over rated cholesterol dump that is Primanti's. Sorry not a fan at all.
We've had the
This discussion has been beaten to death on this board. I like cheesesteaks, roast pork sandwiches, and Primanti Bros. sandwiches. Others don't. If they sucked so much there wouldn't be one in SC or Florida. As for overrated, when Primanti's gets a Michelin star, let me know .
Thank you, psuguy. His experience must have been long ago, when the factories were prevalent, because today Pittsburgh is one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in the US. And, most of the ratings from various publications back that point.

All that may be true, it may be much nicer than Detroit. But compared to State College, it is a dump.
There are McDonald's and Burger Kings in SC and Florida also. What's your point?
I screwed up multiple details, my bad (found this out late last night when I couldn't sleep)I didn't know Central had any zero stars this year. They seem to be completely loaded.
Who are you hearing?
It's early for a 2016 recruit who is not a sure fire 4* or 5*, so you never know, but yea at this point it is not a huge get, minus the buzz he can put in his teammates ear. Which Central has like 7 or 8 future D1 guys starting this year.Yeah, Vukovcan is a complete Pitt homer. He pretty much sets the tone at that station regarding coverage. He is by all accounts a complete ass.
By his offer sheet, looks like Garner is a MAC level prospect.
Sorry, no disrespect to State College intended, but I've been there, and there is no comparison to Pittsburgh as a whole. Your college experience may have been great, and it is a nice college town, but I'm talking about as an overall experience and opportunities to thrive.
Wow, I can't get anything right today....Well, isn't everybody a 2016 prospect at this point? He's going to be a senior.
On that team he's one of the lesser lights, because as we both have said, Central is just loaded for next year. They are going to stomp on every WPIAL team without question.
I don't get the impression that he's going to have anybody following him to Pitt. The Pitt people seem to think that Wheeler had a really good visit, but if he wanted to commit to the home town team, he could have done it by now. Central is literally a few blocks from the middle of the Pitt campus, so those kids know what they are getting into. In fact, I wonder if it hurts Pitt to some degree, that they are so close to the high school. Some kids might just want to get a different experience than just moving two blocks up the street.
Oakland's really not all that bad. The area around Presby is just typical medical campus architecture, and the buildings are really quite handsome in a very old-school sort of way. I don't know how you could call that area gloomy at all. If anything, the part of campus up by Presby, WPIC, and the Pete is pretty nice.
