As I understand Phil, we will be fielding an OL that goes 20 # per man larger than last year. Add one years experience and one years confidence, plus at long last outstanding depth.
On the surface it looks like if we did nothing , we would be substantially better than last year.
BUT Phil seems to imply that our OL will be doing things a bit differently this year.
Last years pressure on McS, sacks and TFLs, and the general pounding he and SB took at times - especially against the higher ranked opponents, were disconcerting and could have had more serious consequences for our key players.
So Im asking coaches if you sense, expect, or know of any coming changes that the rest of us would see as ways to improve those weaker links in our 2016 offense: ie - a, too often, just so-so running game; the inability to move the ball early in games; red zone scoring; and 3rd & 4th down conversion rates?
I cant imagine this excellent coaching staff hasn't spent a lot of their off-season time looking to address and improve these areas of offensive performance.
Thanks.
