Football Comparing Clifford’s 2019 supporting cast vs. 2022 cast

RB - the elder statesman of '19 and former 5* didn't do anything and would wash out less than 2 years later. JB didn't become JB until mid season. Cain was steady until injury and Ford saw more PT then compared to subsequent years.

We are asking Singleton to be mid season JB from day 1, which is tough. Allen to Cain could easily be a push and positive to Allen if he stays healthy. Lee is the wild card. If he can be steady and lead until the young guys can take over, that's huge. Ford has a usable skill set. Reminds me of New England's James White. The offense just needs rhythm to utilize him.

WRs - 2 NFL guys vs 2 project-to-be NFL guys. It's the 3/4 slots that will matter. Got to get production from them.

TE - Pat alone dominates this. I'd consider it a success if our TEs collectively match his '19 stats, but can block ¾ as good as Bowers.

OL - when 4 of the 5 have spent time on an NFL roster, that's excellent. Believe 3 still are. Walker never matched his '19 self there after. Menet was solid and seemed to make the right calls and probably under appreciated.

The leftside of the current OL projects better, but you are only as good as your weakest link.

Fun look. '19 was a bad OPI vs JB from being 11-1. We didn't stand a chance vs the Buckeyes that year. After the almost of '17 & '18, that stunk.

Was that OPI in the OSU game? Sorry to be thick....

Minnesota. Would have been 1st and goal from the 6. Clifford threw an int one or two plays later. We've subsequently watched the same play be run against us twice and no OPI thrown.

Was that on Journey or the WR from Maryland who never lived up to hype and transferred out (name escaping me)? Maybe #11?
