They wrestled better and deserved it. I don’t think they had one guy wrestle under seed.

Look forward to the third chapter to this saga...

Only guy I have a concern about for us is Shak. He looked off the whole tourney and not the same guy we’ve seen since Janauary. I’m sure Cael and company will have him ready in 2 weeks.

Nick Lee had that one weird match against Carr. Seemed like a one off. But other than that thought he wrestled well

We need to bring more fire than we did today and I have complete faith in our staff to have them at the top of their game.

Gonna be a battle for sure. If we can get Nolf as healthy as possible, I still like our chances at the big dance

Could care less

If OSU had lost, Ryan would still have run his mouth about how he has a better "program" - or whatever

Definitely my hat's off to the Buckeyes they were the strongest team this weekend. They scored more uncharacteristic bonus points early on and uncharacteristically we scored too few. They won all the matches they needed to and we let a few slip away. I think Nato dodged a little bullet with the kid from NJ and Spencer will learn and handle him next time. Mackenna is wrestling very well, Moore looked great, Snyder vs Koon 3 will be worth the money for front row seats.

I am definitely concerned about Shaq he didn't deliver hardly any bonus looked a bit lost when he couldn't lock up any cradles, and we all saw that as his huge differentiator, without Shaq delivering bonus I'm in the Cassar court but I guess that discussion is for next year. I think Cassar could have won it all this weekend, let's hope Shack makes some adjustments and bounces back.

I hope when Nolf meets the hammers they don't Target his leg because his style is different now, he's definitely not a 100% Nolf. 90% is probably good enough if everyone else wrestles Fair.

I am also a little concerned about Nick Lee he's losing matches he shouldn't and I don't know if he's managing the third period of key matches smartly. He needs to account for many of the other top wrestlers are simply stronger physically than him he's giving up way too much easy access to his legs and he's getting caught underneath far too often. That said I think a third-place finish is fair for where he sits today, and if he could eat out a top-four at Nationals I would be happy.

OSU brought their A game! I am sure Cael and crew will be working hard to bring it home in a few weeks...

They were really defensive in the neutral position. Hard to take down. Going to have to figure that out to win the NCAA's. Of course, it will be good to have Nolf back.

Absolutely. Congratulations to the Bucks who upped their 2017 game by 25 points! PSU improved over 2017 by 18 pts. They got some breaks but did as they did a year ago and that is wrestle their best at the B1G. Couldn't repeat it at nationals as PSU turned it up to another level a year ago. Wouldn’t be surprised if 2018 is a repeat of 2017...

Jazus Christ almighty after reading your summary, I am so fearfully negative now, I don't even want to drive my car for fear of getting in an accident!

Ohio State had a great tournament, 4 champions, 3 second place, 2 third place and one DNP. Based on their seeds, they should have had, 2 Champions, 4 second place, 1 third, 1 fourth, 1 fifth and one DNP. They earned it this weekend, will see what happens at Nationals.

I doth think our sportsmanship is getting the better of us. Could we please return to the days of casting vile slurs at our nemesis?

Agreed, this thread is disgusting

I think OSU maxed out their points at B10's. When you add in the rest of the field, I think they may struggle to even have a champ in two weeks. As for Penn State, I think 149, 157 and 184 are certain finalists and high percentage as champs. I realize to some degree this depends on how healthy Nolf is, but he looked ok to me with maybe just a little rust and give him 10 more days and I think he'll be good to go. Kemerer is dinged up too and not himself.

I see Hall making the finals and Cenzo as well although they have both eeked out some wins over tough opponents recently. Valencia is going to be tough to overcome for Mark and Cenzo will have to bring it against McFadden (likely semis) and Imar.

For OSU, I don't think they get the same points from Nato, Pletcher (for sure), McKenna (141 is dog tough), Hayes, or Micah. Bo Jordan has several losses recently. MyMar and Moore could be finalists, but it should be a H2H for us at 184 and Moore has shown susceptibility lately. Even Snyder isn't a lock to win it all as I think it's anyone's match when he wrestles Coon.

We'll need a good showing from Nick Lee and hopefully Rasheed can go on a run. If Keener can win a match or two, that would be helpful as well. It should be a f** weekend.

I concur with your assessment clucas, except for ONE statement near the end. Are we now so PC as not to offend our friends on HR, and the Bucknuts who we have a deep, dark place in our hearts for, by not using the word FUN any more? FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN we are having FUN!!

Nothing wrong with having fun. Better than being a dick, acting like a tough guy and scowling all the time. Love when mild-mannered guys like Q and Nickal beat the piss out of guys like Gravina.

Nolf from projected champ to sixth. Keener and Lee down a seed. Joseph up a seed.

I question your terminology. Nolf was seeded second, not champ. Plus, many did not project him as champ, not because he wasn’t able but because we weren’t sure he would wrestle. So I request a slight change from 2nd to 6th.

Again, like the OSU wrestlers - good guys. Hate the coach, hate the fans, so screw everything OSU.

I like Nato....but would even root for that pompous idiot NS over a buckeye especially in 2 weeks.

Just looking at it as objectively as I can, it seems to me that there is no D1 team whose wrestlers are more sportsmanlike in victory or defeat than Ohio State. I'll be rooting hard against them at nationals but still have great respect for them.
Agreed. I like Hall's passion but I could see why some may be put off by his winning celebrations. At least he has been able to back it up.

Yeah, as annoying as Ryan is, his wrestlers seem like genuinely good guys. If they weren’t wearing those ugly red and white singlets, I might even be able to root for them...
