Current PSU Recruits and Commits news

PSU has such a great team guys can't help but leave if they won't start I would say shirt then try the next yr if not why not leave?they will still have 3 yrs

What PJ did today is insane! What's even more incredible is we have ANOTHER incoming recruit that is on his exact same level in Marcus Blaze. Might sound like a ridiculous claim after what PJ just did but I'm totally convinced Blaze is right there with him.
Pj Duke, Marcus Blaze, and Ono may
be the greatest incoming class in the history of college wrestling. 😱😳

Don't forget Henckel is in the same class. He'll be either at 74 or Welsh should be sleeping with one eye opened. Henckel is a real deal. So yeah, I would mark this class as definitely the greatest class (Ono, Blaze, Duke, Henckel). If not, I would like to see the contenders.

Henckel is a freaking steal. I hate you guys so much.

When he takes over 174, he's a faster Levi.

Anyone here watch the BEG podcasts, I think it was during one of last weeks shows Cornell Kevin was talking about Henckel and he made it sound like he was sure Will will end up somewhere else. I think I'm right on this but Cornell knows the family and coaches youth wrestling, I think he may have even coached Will at one point. He made it seem like he was biting his tongue not to put out more info. Hell, at one point I thought he was gonna just name the school. Anyone else listen to that show? If so, what was your thoughts on it?

I can’t see him already transferring without atleast getting his redshirt in to learn from the best

BEG wrestling. I sent a message to Kevin trying to find video. I'll post if he gets back to me. I'm starting to think it may have been Jayden James he was talking about instead of Henckle. It was one of the two.
Neither make sense and I'm not saying he's not credible, I'd just be shocked.

James literally just committed 3 months ago (flipping from VT) and PSU seems like Henckel's dream school. Both just did an interview with Zach Seyko and seemed like perfect fits when explaining why they committed.

Are you sure he's not referencing them possibly leaving eventually if they don't fit the lineup? Because sure, all bets are off if that is the case.

It wasn't "them". It was just one of them but can't find the video. Yes, they were talking about him having trouble getting into the lineup. Going off memory, Kevin said he was surprised he chose PSU and seemed to be saying there was another school he thought he'd end up at. At one point he said he better stop talking because he didn't want to say too much on the subject. He acted as if he's in the know and didn't want to break peoples trust... It kinda surprised me a little bit to be honest.

I think you're talking about Henckel then. I recall Penn State was kind of a shocker when he announced and I believe Iowa was the school a lot of people thought he would end up at. He visited there for their big weekend and they were confident after. He is extremely close with Leo Deluca also.

Ok. Sorry guys. I had the wrong podcast. It was on Cactus Wrestling. And before you say anything, there's only one guy on their podcast that I'd even care to hear from and unfortunately he's the one that brought up Will Henckle. Here's the video. Starts at 27:40 mark. And yes Will was in his youth program. Take a listen...

Interesting…definitely alludes to knowing something and maybe even a location, but he said “finish his career” somewhere else. My take, he’s talked to Will and maybe there’s a backup plan if he can’t crack the lineup because he seems to believe he’ll be like a 184 probably sooner than later. So maybe RS a year and then if he can’t hold 174 when Levi graduates, he’s contending with Welsh and maybe even Mirasola and Barr depending on how big he gets. He’s legit though, so who knows who the odd man out will end up being there?

Yeah I thought it was interesting myself. Didn't really want to go off memory on what was all said but I couldn't find the vid. Would have helped if I at least got the right podcast. Lol. I was pretty close though. Personally, I think Henckle just might end of the best out of them all. Nothing more than a gut feeling but damn that kid just keeps getting better and better. I went from "ok, we got another tough kid" to "my God this kid is a beast. " in a matter of months. Funny, when Willie had him at #18, I made a comment on the BEG page that Willie was gonna regret having him that low. Then after U20s, Willie was on Baschs podcast and said something along the lines that he probably had him too low at 18 but no one could have saw it coming that Henckle would do what he did. . Lol. I wanted to shout "I DID".... HA

I feel the exact same way! I initially thought of him as a nice pickup, but now I see him as truly elite - I am pretty high on this kid!

Just listened to it. Not remotely shocking the context of it because it's spot on and unless it's a kid like Marcus Blaze or PJ Duke, there's always going to be questions of wait where does he fit? Heck I had questions about Levi and Kasak when they committed.

They are also spot on saying evidence says PSU is where you want to be to reach your ultimate goal of being a NCAA champion so Will is betting on himself. Plus as I mentioned it's his dream school. But he's also clearly a smart kid and did his due diligence via the recruiting process and I'm sure made some really good relationships with coaches during it and has an idea of where else he can see himself going if the day comes he is the odd man out.

But as of today, I bet Will doesn't see himself as that.

No one said it was shocking. Just found it interesting and the guy seemed as if he was holding some things back as well which I didn't care for. But thanks for trying to say my mind at ease... :)

Corby on 34 and Counting wrote "When Cael locks in a someone he gets them 99% of the time. He's still locked in on one of your recruits and I don't think the battle is over yet"

I imagine he's talking about Jax ... other possibility would be Ross but I'll guess that's less likely than the kid in his backyard at a weight of need 141/149 with Blaze the other.

That one feels as over as it can get, he's leaned Ok State for a while, committed there of course and based on his interviews, seems as all in as can be but maybe @johnstownsteel was able to dislodge him 😇
