For rules violation. That's all I can gather as of now, just broke on twitter.

Damn, hate to lose a 4 star. Must have been something big. He'll get the second chance somewhere else and be a star a la Oakman.

What are the rules regarding his transfer? Can he sign on with any other program immediately? What other D1 teams would be sleazy enough to take a kid with a troubled past, at least immediately.

Surely, you jest? Plenty of teams around that will take a 4 star LB with a troubled past. Also, we don't know what he did, but it isn't likely that it was felonious or it would probably have already hit the news. I hope I'm right about that and that the kid gets his house in order.

It was multiple offenses. Sometimes you get a kid that's beyond help. Glad he got weeded out early. Move on.

Originally committed to the cuse I believe. Guarantee he gets picked up. First team has to dump him, second team never catches flak for signing him.

Ships are at a premium for Penn State now. Won't take much to get the boot. Skipping too many classes, for example, will be enough to send you packing. You get 1 strike.

how many and what type "multiple" offenses could a kid commit in his first month on campus?? Wonder if it was stuff carrying forward from before he got to campus? And where was the staff due diligence on this kid before he came to school?? Seems improbable a kid could break so many rules in such a short time and not have some pretty obvious red flags in his immediate past.

Kid is booted right off the team, but lets try to figure out a way to blame the staff.

Moron.

Staff brought in a kid who literally got booted off the team the first day of practice for rules violations. Maybe they should have looked a little harder into his background and avoided the whole mess. It is their job after all topknot who they are bringing in. (and I won't call you any names)

I'm sure they do, but sometimes you take a chance on someone, they know they're on a short lease and everyone promises the kid will do right, but he doesn't. Sometimes these problems don't start up until the kid gets out of high school and is on their own in college. How many "regular" college students do stupid stuff when they get their first taste of independence? Sometimes kids project a lot of confidence, but inside they aren't, and when they get to college they don't handle it well and do stupid things to help them get through or adjust. Sometimes the kids have issues, but their parents and coaches cover for them, because they want them to do well, to succeed. The staff can only find out so much.

I don't know what happened in this instance, but there are a number of scenarios where it's not really on the coaches. And if this one is, they'll learn from it. People do make mistakes, even highly paid ones.

Or...........maybe we can wait to see what occurred, before we hose the staff.......or anyone else. Just a thought.

Daiquan released a statement that he still loves penn state and the staff. He's looking forward to getting back in the classroom and on the football field and turning the page to a new chapter in his life.
