Daiquan Kelly dismissed from team...

That's unfortunate to hear, but he wouldn't be the first kid to make a mistake when he first arrived at college and he won't be the last. If he isn't allowed back on the team at a later date, I hope he's able to go somewhere that can give him an opportunity to succeed on and off the field. For a lot of kids, things like this can be a real wake up call to get serious, and it's good to see that Kelly seems to have gotten that message.

Daiquan released a statement that he still loves penn state and the staff. He's looking forward to getting back in the classroom and on the football field and turning the page to a new chapter in his life.

Hope he really realizes he will get a "second" chance. Getting a "third" is far less likely. Sometimes kids are not ready. We had another LB a couple of years ago that was troubled, I think he is now at Temple?

Issah was booted from Temple some time last year

Kelly burned his bridges with Rutgers after his comitt to PSU at the game last year...no matter "what goes around comes around"...Kelly will more than likely wind up at a school down south unless his offense was something very serious... nice player but like many not very bright.

Kiy Hester also burned his bridges at Rutgers after he decommitted and signed wit Miami.

Any guesses on where Hester is now?

I think it's less about intelligence and more about "maturity". Some require more time to understand, some never do.

Bridges over the Raritan are all in a "Flood" Zone. One big pothole this Spring was you need to commit before we offer! There once was one that if you visit another school we pull your offered scholarship. That one may have been 'repaired'.

Same problem with many board members...maturity problems...thus childish posts that lack any perspective....same old same old. Your post on this topic is the exception. Thanks.

Might you allow me to purchase a celebratory beverage once you reach the legal drinking age? My treat.

Dude, you're bright enough to know the difference between a decommitment and committing to the visiting team while on an official to the home team. Hester never burned his bridges, as he was one of five 4* to decommit in the two-year wake of Schiano's departure. Kiy maintained a good relationship with the RU staff, then asked permission to transfer to Rutgers when his mother got sick. Golden initially denied his request, then after some pressure was brought by the media he relented and allowed him to go back to his home state and program of his original commitment.

Dude, did you read the comments on the Rutgers board after Hester's decmmit.? Hint: Nobody was wishing him well.

Well, if he had two years of college ball under his belt, he'd be ideal for the Niners....

Ugh, my Niners are having one hell of an off-season. Only two, TWO, remaining starters on defense from the Superbowl team. One being Navarro Bowman. Unreal.

Pitt will take him in a heartbeat, as soon as they figure out how to rationalize it and not look stupid. They were begging to take the Maryland WR who wound up at some junior college somewhere.

Now, whether Kelly is willing to move down to D-II is another story altogether.

Yes. I know of at least two people who know.;):p
The joke is good, but it's not really a funny thing when a young man needs to be dismissed from the team and the reasons need to be hidden. Coach Franklin has done the right thing and the big debate about whether anyone needs to know will of course resume, but the bottom line is that this isn't funny. It is, however, another step forward for the program in the face of the unfair punishment and nationwide ignorance.

Who said the reason *needs* to be hidden? Maybe Franklin simply chose not to disclose it. If it isn't a criminal matter and therefore on the public record, then it is up to Franklin whether to disclose it.

If he transfers to another school then something needs to be said. Sorry, but the program has been transparent now for two years, and needs to continue the policy. If he is being given a chance to return, then fine, no disclosure is alright.

I heard it had something to do with a laundry basket in a closet after 2am.

I'm impressed you were able to incorporate that many non sensical non sequiturs in one post

Everyone is curious. Privacy of the individual should be respected. Moreover, all gossip and conjectures should be avoided. Wait for some real news or reliable leak.

I agree. It never ceases to amaze me that someone can post childish nonsense for a decade or more, without realizing they are not only wasting their own time, but others time too.

Wait, Donald Trump is not cool?????

Nope, and cool is all that matters with a president, at least that is what I heard on CNN. Sure Obama has been one of the worst presidents ever, but he sure is cool!

At Pitt you can commit multiple offenses, like underage drinking and DUI, and only sit for the worst game of the season!

The previous coaching staff of note kept things quiet and a certain group of posters on this board screamed that they were owed the information.

This coaching staff does the same thing, and the same posters say "they trust the staff".

Interesting perspectives.

Junior1 .... The 1 represents your IQ and the junior means you are not mature yet. Thanks for making my point. You are too stupid to place your childish and irrelevant post in the correct thread. I wonder how many folks here have read the tweets from Daquan Kelly regarding his situation. One or two of us. Ya all need to ph'ing grow up!
