Dan Gable meets Larry Owings...Again

The one comment is pretty harsh. :rolleyes: I can't think of any bigger upset at the collegiate level. I think DeSanto/Lee is the tops for high school. If the referees at PIAAs in 1973 had grown a pair (well, at least two of the three refs), the Carr/Kepp match would have been right up there.

Could you get multiple riding time points in those days?
 
The 1966 NCAA scoring rule of 1 point for 1 minute, 2 points for 2 minutes or more, was changed in 1970-71...to 1 point for 1 minute or more.

I'm pretty sure that the storyline for Vision Quest was inspired by the Gable vs Owings match.
