This would be a coup by Franklin if he can get Holgorsen as our next OC. Probably one of the greatest offensive minds in CFB. He doesn’t have any ties to PSU or Franklin that I’m aware of, but neither did Diaz. If I was Franklin I would’ve been on the phone with him first thing this morning and maybe he was.

Didn’t he allegedly have some alcohol and maybe gambling issues at WVU? I could be wrong as I haven’t followed his career closely, but I thought there was some talk of those issues while he was at West Virginia.
Tailgating with some WVU fans earlier this year one of our guys asked them if they missed Holgerson. They weren’t very complimentary. They said he didn’t recruit much and wasn’t committed to the long hours a coach needed to work.
I don't understand why all of these Hal Mumme/ Mike Leach clones keep popping up for jobs. They are the basketball on grass guys and all you have to do is hit them in the mouth and they're done. I give you Lincoln Riley, Dana Holgerson

The mere fact that he gets sober from time to time will cause the many fake fans here not like him from the start.
Wow I didn’t realize he had issues with alcohol. I thought it was strange he was fired by Houston after one bad season considering he helped get them into the B12 and had two really good seasons recently. Can I change my choice to Sean Lewis?
I think there was some sort of incident at Charlestown Racetrack/Casino...but could've been another location.
The intro Press Conference where the UH President, Board and Kelvin Sampson talked of not just Conference Championships, but of National Championships to showcase their University hasn't quite worked out.
Must admit I was rooting against him. We need someone who has his creativity. Just not him.
Holgorson is not a great dude. He was going to be fired by WVU, and some booster at UH is infatuated by him and got him hired. Also, he runs a pretty standard “unevolved” version of the Air Raid. If you want the Air Raid (which I don’t), there are plenty of other guys who can do an equal job without all the baggage.
The innuendos about alcohol to me are hearsay. The point is no Mumme/Leach clones need apply. A "culture of offense" evolves and the programs slip.
Agree, no idea if the booze rumors are true, but the guy doesn’t seem well liked by players. Most importantly, his offense is a bit stale.
He on no way fits that bill. Unfortunately, college coaches have to be well liked to gets recruits. NFL coaches can be miserable pricks all they want 😀
The kids like him do they not? Not sure how Prime is in anyway analogous to Holgorsen, who is likely not even an above average play caller in 2023.
