I'm picking Dean. Two-time champ, one of the few to beat Ed Ruth (as a freshman!), and he's annihilated everyone so far this season. Wouldn't put money on it, though. Marquee match of the season at any weight.

Definitely a contrast in styles.
You'd figure Bo would want to keep in motion and moving.
Match up would remind me a little of a Kilgore / Q final - but Dean is surprisingly athletic for such a strong wrestler.

It's gonna be amazing. Dean has earned the right to be the favorite, but it's a very slight favorite, IMO.
Well so far it looks like it's Dean and Bo and then a cliff to the next guy.
I wouldn't bet money on the match, but I'd bet money they're both undefeated going in and I think the winner deserves the Hodge. There aren't two wrestlers as talented in any other weight.
No one that wrestles division one in the Big Ten is a chump, but we all know who's gonna win that match.
I am very much looking forward to them meeting at the NCAA finals. So long as we have the title wrapped up before the match.

Immediately after the match and the tournament Christian Pyles asks Cael, why are you looking like a bear with a jagger in your rear end, you just crowned 4 champs and won the title by 38 points?
Cael responds, you know how I feel about plans, don't you? Which causes Christian to faint and Wiilie has to pick up the mic, climb over his colleague and friend and says yes go ahead Cael.
Cael continues, "well, as I was saying I like to have a plan and I did have a plan and well I wavered.

Cael, gives Willie a look that nearly caused Willie to trip over a still slumbering Christian while retreating and answered, "I was pretty certain we had this tournament while still redshirting Mark and then one day Cody, Casey and Jake came to me and told me they had these 2 guys they wanted me to meet. So I met some guy named Spike or something and his buddy who somehow was carrying 21 guns while on campus. They told me what a great job I was doing overall but they had some concern regarding my stubbornness on the Mark Hall issue. They full court pressed me into reading some Internet message board thing that seemed to be mostly about Penn State wrestling. After reading multiple threads that had all kind of different titles, but all seemed to focus on whether or not Mark should come off of his redshirt and compete this year. Initially I thought these are all well intended and passionate wrestling fans who just were not privy to the plan I have codesigned with my el-jefe buddy for world domination.
BUT like I said earlier. The spike fellow with his 21 gun carrying friend were full court pressing me and in a moment of weakness I agreed to send Mark out to secure the victory against Maryland and we'll that kinda committed us to Mark wrestling.
Now El-Jefe and I must redesign our plan and to make it worse I was right from the beginning. Even without Mark's championship we would have won the championship anyhow.
Geez whiz, make a plan, trust the plan and execute. It used to work so well?

Bo will beat Dean by 4 or 5 points....Just as strong and way to slick....Bet on it....
I will give you slickness but I don't buy the just as strong. Dean has super mega ogre strength. He won't be horsed by anyone at 184. I want Bo to win but I would be very hesitant to bet on it.

I'm a PSU fan "all-day and twice on Sunday" but I just don't see Bo knocking off Dean...I don't, I hope he does but Dean is a monster. Has he even been scored on outside of him giving an escape this year? Bo's just as talented but I don't think he has the strength to go with the senior that, "Knocked of Ruth" as a frosh....just too talented and strong. Time will tell....
I'm beginning to think a strength advantage over Bo Nickal doesn't even matter. Twice today, Dudley (who *looks* way stronger than Bo) had double underhooks so deep he got his hands locked in what looked like perfect bear hug situations. BoNicks just dropped in some double overs, relaxed and arched his back a bit. If we didn't know any better, it looked like Bo was obviously in danger of getting dump trucked. But we know better. And more importantly, Dudley knew better. He felt it. He knew he didn't have the leverage it looked like he had.
It's not Dean's strength that should be a concern, it should be his technique, which is as crisp and precise as we've seen since DT. His positioning is efficient, his setups are perfect and when he cleanly snatches that outside single, he's gonna finish.
On most people. Which we know BoNicks is not.
I'm also very interested in the Brooks match, but this collision course to Dean-Nickal is getting more and more awesome.
That's some great hyperbole there, sounds like you have bought into the HR hype machine on this one. As a RS Senior, Brooks has a single 8th NCAA finish to his resume. If he keeps coming against Bo, he will be majored or pinned.
Brooks is a fine, fine wrestler. But unless Bo throws himself to his back, Brooks doesn't come close to beating Bo.
