Don’t be surprised if Michigan is playing in the playoffs

UM won’t even make the BIG championship game. Their annual thrashing against OSU comes in two weeks.
That's my opinion.

The buckeyes are the best in the Big10, again this year.

Even with a new QB and some holes.

But now they're clicking.

We had a far better chance against Michigan than we did against OSU. Really, should have won against Michigan.

Ohio St defense is simply not good.
Agree, maybe the worst OSU defense in 20 to 30 years. It will be interesting to see what the point spread will be on the OSU - Michigan game. I have no doubt that Michigan will move and score on the OSU defense. Just not sure they can keep up with the OSU offense. This is going to be a tighter game than many think. It sounds like Day is going to replace a few defensive coaches after this year

I heard the very same thing in 2018. "Revenge tour!". The long-haired kid and the rest of that '85 Bears-like Michigan defense was going to shut OSU down, and they'd run all over that porous OSU defense.

That worked out well for Michigan. Got crossing route-d to death and had those wings blown right off their helmets.

You hate to see it.

Beware of the Michigan hype train. Something about that OSU-Michigan game messes with Harbaugh's head and has OSU playing at a peak level every year.

I think they match up well against OSU. QB play is the weak spot. If the RB’s can get yards and score they have a good shot. If OSU offense breaks out Mich QB won’t come thru.

If Michigan is the 4th best team in the country like the announcer and this poster think, PSU is the 5th best team in the country.
That PSU-UM game could have very easily ended up in the win column for PSU. That one big play (the Michigan TE TD) was the difference in the game. Two evenly matched teams and the stats even say so

O$U bests scUM. Yes it will be fairly close but O$U once again comes out on top and Jimmah on the losing end.

OSU will roll Meatchicken, win the B1G and have a rematch against Oregon in the 2 v 3 semifinal. Write it down.

Don Brown was shown the door. Those days are over

I literally laughed out loud when that clown announcer said that. Pandering nonsense. They’re a solid team no doubt, but who have they beaten? A Decent (7-3) Wisconsin team, then went neck-and-neck with a decent but limping Penn State team.

The OL is solid, the QB is solid, the defense is solid, RB strong but not explosive or fast, WRs only decent.

Solid team, hope they beat OSU but probably lose by two scores.

Michigan best MSU. The Big Ten admitted the refs made many mistakes. Including a TD not counted

I wouldn’t bet on it anyway. Keep your hard earned money. Eventually, during this part of the season Harbaugh finds a way to lose.

I think playing at home, Michigan has a very good chance to beat OSU this year. Michigan doesn't win pretty, but they control the lines.

I would rather see Michigan than OSU.
For the sake of diversity only. I'd rather send Sparty between the 3.

All we heard was "Don. Brown. Defense!" for a half decade.

And if yall were considerably better, you would have won by more than 4. Don't inflate yourself. Buckeyes probably beat yall by 21.

Yup!

How you win football games. Penn St had no answer for the Michigan DL.

Michigan OL controlled the game. Remember, UM was without their best RB and still controlled the clock

Sounds like you're either a fan or went to the mighty "Harvard of the Midwest."

Close game, I’ll give you that. But if Michigan had won then MSU has 2 losses without having played Ohio State or Penn State yet. And Michigan has three decent wins including two very close games instead of two wins and a loss.

Michigan is a solid top 10-12 team, which is where they’ll end up, lacking elite skill players. I hope they beat OSU but unless they majorly disrupt cj stroud (7 sacks might do it) or get him to turn the ball over 2+ times I don’t see it happening.

Day might hang 70 on them. The Big 10 is trash yet again this season.

If we’re being honest, Michigan is much better than Penn St.
Funny things happen when you compare Apples to Apples rather than Apples to Oranges. Penn State has a couple of colleges that tend to lower the rankings of the University. Remove Ag and Teaching and the two Universities are very comparable. Penn State has a lot of programs that are flat out better. Michigan has some as well. All things being equal, they are neck and neck.

This thread is a wonderful example of why Michigan fans are universally loathed outside of Ann Arbor and the Walmart Wolverine universe. Unbridled arrogance for a program that hasn't won a full national title since the Harry Truman administration. LOL.

Mich is an average program with an average coach...they aren't even the best team in their own state.
Funny thing about that. Our coaches record at PSU and Harbaughs at Michigan is largely similar and the other school in Michigan has one more playoff appearance than both of them.

and,,,both Michigan teams as of today have a pathway to the Big Ten Championship that they control (and should result in the 4 team Invitational) .

4 points and had to win the game in the final minutes. Congrats to UM, they found a way to win, but it easily could have been another in a long line of Hoke 2.0 November losses.

Full national title? Heck, how about just a B1G title? We've won 3 since they won their last one, and that period includes the much-maligned end of the Paterno years and the sanction years. I hope Ohio State runs them right out of their own building.

2004 was there last outright big ten title. Unbelievable for mighty Michigan

"Outright" implies they've at least shared one since then. Have they? I don't think so but maybe I'm mistaken.

Dominating DL

Dominating OL

Beast at RB
I will be shocked if that happens. I don't think they beat OSU.
Their OL was not dominating. Haskins was very good but the OL was only just ok.
The DL was not dominating our run game sucks and it was the best against them all season.
Yes beast at RB.

For all the blue blood programs, they have achieved the least in the modern era. No doubt about it.

At least Nebraska won 2.5 titles in the 1990s and played for a title in 2001.

At least Texas won a title in 2005 and played for another title in 2009.

At least Notre Dame has gone to multiple CFPs and has won multiple titles from the 1970s onward.

1/2 of a national title since the 1940s. No conference titles in the past 17 years. For mighty Michigan.

They hang their hat on "most wins" -- but that gap is closing. And it's a record they built on the backs of their glory days in the 1930s or whenever. Very few people are left alive who actually remember when Michigan was last dominant.

LOL.

But but the officials make mistakes and if a team is good they should be able to over come that. I distinctly remember hearing that refrain echoing from Michigan.
