Don't ya hurt lil Tommy Brady boys! Stay off him article!!

Bill Bellichick apparently believes that he could win a Super Bowl with any of the top 15 QBs in the league using his “system”....fwiw.

"[If] you gave us any of the top 15 [quarterbacks in the NFL], we could do it," said the assistant. "I don't think the coaches view Tom as special as everyone else in football does. [Owner Robert Kraft] thinks Tom is the greatest gift ever, but the coaches don't."

Pretty telling coming from the hoodie, no?
We’ll see how good Belichick is after Brady retires....I mean we saw how successful he was before he got Brady (eye roll).

Considering it’s a team sport, obviously nobody has won more. Manning, Brees, and Favre all have better individual stats and also been champions. So there’s that.

Oh, and they’re all also system QBs.
No one has dominated the sport like Brady has and no, those QB’s stats aren’t better. And those three all declined in their skills as they got older, Brady has not. He’s the best ever by all measurement.

You’re perfectly justified in your opinion, but diet has little to do with the ability for defenders to tee off on him without fear of repercussions. Eating soy has nothing to do with the argument, rendering your opinion no more or less valid than mine. The modern rule book and his protected status have a helluva lot more to do with his longevity than diet, work ethic and attitude.
Diet and nutrition has a ton to do with playing well and with longevity. There is nothing but your opinion indicating that Brady could not have played in the past. You’re sounding quite paranoid with your world is out to help Tom Brady rants. But you’re impartial (right)!

So your opinion trumps their stats? Got it.

A second coach with a speaker in his head telling him exactly what the defense is going to do based on a highly efficient catalog of defensive signals stored in the savant brain of whatever that Rain Man dude’s name is they keep in the booth up in foxboro. So, when you’ve got the answers to the test, it’s just about execution. Ya know...like a system.
All QB’s have that technology....why aren’t they all winning like Brady? Most QB’s consistently have better receivers than Brady, yet they don’t win like he does. Most QB’s have better running backs than Brady, yet they don’t win like he does. Their brilliant coach was 41-57 before Brady and is 221-66 since. Yeah, Belichick’s brilliant system didn’t work until Brady became the QB, so it’s not the system.

Hey look...I eat soy, and thus am bulletproof!!! Tell me you really don’t believe that nonsense. Did you watch football before the 90’s? Completely different world for any player who handled the ball.

Oh, and while tommy gets more favoritism than most, all modern day QBs are protected. These are not opinions...these are the rules of latter day football.

Ask Ernie Whatshisface...football’s greatest cheat sheet.

I watched a ton of football before the 90’s and many QB’s had long careers...not sure how you can say Brady wouldn’t have been one of them. And since you can’t put players in different eras you have to judge them based on their level of play in the era they played in and no one has been more dominant than Brady. And I certainly hope you realize he does a lot more than eat soy...that’s just stupid.

First time I’ve ever heard Favre being called a System QB
Apparently you could call all QB’s system QB’s because they all play in a system and some are better than others. The big difference is Belichick’s system sucked until he got Brady (and it will suck after Brady is gone).

Never said he couldn’t survive, just less likely.

Bill Walsh introduced the system QB....in a copycat league, it took off like gangbusters. Modern day football is all about the coaches.

I had to take a break to get away from your constant refusals to acknowledge the corrections by several board members to much of the content in your posts in this thread, and returned just in time to read your latest doozie that Brady's diet, work ethic and attitude have less to do with his longevity than the rule book and the referees. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but so am I --- you are so enamored with yourself that nothing anyone else says matters to you. Nothing personal, but IMO your posts are actually getting even more idiotic as the evening goes on. I'm sure that in your mind his extreme workouts and peak physical condition for his age are also non-factors in his longevity as well. Thanks for revealing that he has very little to do with his continued success --- it's the rule book and the refs. I must be terribly naïve to think that hard work and dedication matter.

I must be terribly naïve.
At least we finally agree on something. :p

But seriously, your arguments about my posts can be said about you as well. I get that your a fan and that tommy is sacred in certain circles. And of course his regiment likely helps with his longevity. But so do genetics AND playing in an era when he’s as ultra protected as ANY player EVER. You can’t sneeze near Tom without getting a flag (see last year’s playoffs for example)...and he knows it. And he knows it - he cries to the zebras so much and he gets rewarded for it.

Finally, in response to your amateur psychoanalysis of being enamored with myself....well once you start down that hole, you’re basically out of things to say. Looking back, my posts have garnered a few “likes” The only other guy posting in your defense is on record that Bill Bellichick is not a good coach, so there’s your company. If I’m getting more idiotic then where does that put you and your company. Just because you’re too in love with tommy and can’t see how pampered he is, why am I the idiot?

Why less likely? He plays against much better athletes than the old time guys did.
Consider the injury that knocked him out for a season...if that happened to him a generation ago, he doesn’t come all the way back from it, regardless of his diet or regimen. They didn’t reconstruct knees the way they do now. Apply some common sense here please...there were legitimate reasons why players’ careers were shorter than they are now. No doubt, tommy is an outlier, but just following his actual career path, his shredded knee would have had him out of football in previous eras.

I’m not sure how all your reasoning can explain why he’s not the GOAT. You can’t cross players over into different generations...all you can do is measure how they’ve done in their own career and no one has even come close to dominating like Brady for as long as he’s done it. Yes, the rules were different in the past, but the athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster now so Brady plays against better competition. Based on what has actually been accomplished, Brady is the best ever....everything else is just what if fluff.

Didn't Belicheck go 10-6 the year that Brady tore his ACL in Game 1 with a no name QB that then got a big contract the following year only to fail miserably when he left the Patriots. Isn't that about as much proof required that the system is pretty good. Obviously with Brady as QB they win 6 super bowls, but if you put a decent QB on the Patriots, they are still a play-off team vying for Super Bowl on a yearly basis. I hate Belicheck as much as the next guy, but he is the greatest football coach (probably greatest professional coach) of all time.

Whoa whoa whoa and whoa

In football, it’s Lombardi. He died at 57 (10 years younger than BB now) with 6 titles - 5 in 7 years.

As for pro coaches, Auerbach, Bowman, McCarthy, Stengel would like a word

Actually not dumb at all. All QBs since Montana are system QBs and it’s gotten worse every year. Headsets in the helmets, plays called from the sideline...it’s a coach’s game now.
How many rings do the Patriots or Belichick have without Brady at QB? What happened when Brady was injured for most of the year? About the only way to beat the Patriots in a Super Bowl is an elite pass rush where Brady doesn't have time to pick you apart. They're well-coached and all that, blah blah blah, but take away #12 and they'll be about where the Steelers are.

And yet his coach believes he could win championships without him. Did QB play win last year’s SB? What’s your point?

They actually went 11-5.....with Matt Cassel at QB.
Keep telling yourself that Belichick cant win without Brady.

They were 11-5 and didn't make the playoffs. Come on. It's like the Steelers with Kordell Stewart vs. Ben Roethlisberger (couldn't get there) or before that Bradshaw vs. Mark Malone. A decent to above average QB with the pieces around him will get you to the playoffs and maybe the conference championship. A great QB will help you win it all.

He probably won't get to the SB without #12. The team with the better QB won.

Pretty telling coming from the hoodie, no?
The hoodie has won nothing without #12 as his QB. Most of his assistants have flamed out elsewhere. He's way overrated.

He believes he could, but he sure didn't have any rings in Cleveland.
Player 2 be named mis-quoted his own post. He said an un-named assistant said they could win. Not Belichick. Then, he says
Belichick thinks he can win without TB12. SMH

A lot of QBs can get you to the playoffs, and some to the Super Bowl. It's getting to the Super Bowl and winning that matters. Cowher was a great coach. Made a Super Bowl and lost. Went to several AFC championship games. But he couldn't get there until he had an elite QB. And Ben didn't even lead that team.

No argument there...brady is vastly superior to the kid in LA, but my point is, the kid in LA would’ve won that game if his D played the way new england’s did. Or put another way, the pats didn’t need brady to win that game.

Your words not mine. I don’t like BB, and believe a lot of that team’s success is rooted in nefarious “gamesmanship” but I do believe it’s more of tommy being along for the ride than vice-versa.

I believe Bill Belichick is a very good coach, but I believe Tom Brady has been the key element to making it work for so long. He might have gotten a Super Bowl or two without Brady. But not 6.
