Anyone know if any PSU recruits are Fargo-bound? I'm not heading up until Greco, so I know my odds of catching any are slim. Won't make it up for Bo-Woodley, either, but it goes how it goes. Illinois is obviously the favorite in every style because they bring 4739582 wrestlers (great system they have), but any other predictions or thoughts?

I don't think we have anyone going. I'm kinda confused on it's linkage to any other tournaments. Still good wrestling to watch.

My people travel, don't hate. May your wrestlers toss people on their heads. (Without injury of course).

We just rolled into town today. I had our youth team in Vegas for duals last weekend. Made it home for one day, then off to Fargo. I'm excited, always a good time up here. Definitely not what it used to be but still fun.

Ridge Lovett gets his triple crown!

If you run into a big ass Hawaiian from WA poke him in the belly and tell him I said hello. You will be glad you did.

A name we'll probably here more of is Mason Stephanelli. Hes a first year Cadet 106. I've known and watched him wrestle since he was 6. He lives in Hawaii so his national exposure has been limited to a few West Coast tournaments a year. I watched the replay of his first few matches and all I can say is he's a goer. Constantly attacking and very comfortable underneath in the front head position. He's in the R16 and it'll get tougher from there , but I think he'll be a national level recruit in a few years. If he lived in PA he'd be a big board type kid.

what hs Rhino?

Punahou , was a State Champ as a Freshman. I looked quickly at track and it looks like he won freestyle at Cadet and Juniors at Western Regionals. I think he wins this round and makes the Quarters. He teched a kid from Minnesota in Rd1 and that kid Teched the kid he has in R16 at National Duals. The transitive properties donr always work but I'd say he's got a good shot.

Bennett Berge into the semis with a big win over Darrah. Looks really good and is a big kid. Timing wise he fits in pretty well if he comes to PSU. The kid I am most impressed with is Seth Shumate from Ohio. He’s a cadet wrestling at 195. Was a freshman state champion in Ohio and was a runner-up in Akron. Kid is an absolute stud. Watch his quarterfinal match if you get the chance. Hits an absolutely beautiful lateral drop in the first 15 sec and decks the kid. I do love Fargo!

Berge beat Malvern Prep's Nick Feldman to reach the cadet 182 finals.

That was a great match as well. Feldman is a beast. Looks like he is going to be a high level recruit. Berge only scored in 1 sequence but it was enough. Would love if either one of those kids ends up at PSU.

Matt Lee is looking quite impressive. Just teched Hepner who is a super tough kid from Ohio. I didn’t think Matt was the same level recruit as his brothers but he has really jumped levels in the last year. His body has really filled out as well. He looks thick and has big legs. If he keeps on this trajectory he’s going to be just as good as Nick and Joe and hopefully he comes to PSU as well

Of course right after I say that Matt Lee gets teched. It was against a great kid at least. O’Toole the number 1 152 lber in the country. 2 takedowns and 3 guts. Wish it would’ve went a bit longer.

R16: dunbar gets in on a lefty high crotch, opponent drapes over and locks around dunbar's body. dunbar lifts him up high and puts him down on both his shoulders for the victory by fall in 12 seconds.

i don't love the instantaneous fall in freestyle but i do love have a psu guy in the quarters.

Kid shoulda sprawled. Do things right or pay. Beauty of the style.

Just finished watching Mosha Swartz wrestle. I recently moved to Colorado. What a class Northern Colorado put together this year. This is one of the best recruiting classes ever to come out of Colorado and minus two (one huge recruit) they kept most of them in state.

Does Braxton Amos know anything other than TFs? I know the cupboard is full in the top weights and he is definitely a much different body type and wrestling style than Seth, but wow. He is 54-0 into the finals. I hear he is on our recruiting list, and that would be a good problem to have.

The only knock against him in freestyle is he would rather torture than pin. Me happy.

I thought Amos committed to the bad guys??? (Iowa that is) I swear I read that somewhere...

He released his top 5 in April. No commitment as far as I can find -- and a name that big, it would be easy to find.
