I know there are guys who were starters last year that are currently red-shirting. I ask.......

1. Who are they?
2. Weight classes
3. National place finish in 2014 if they did

125 Megaludis---- he is a 3 time AA and finished 3rd last season

141 Retherford---He was an AA as a true freshman and the only wrestler to beat logan stieber last season, he placed 5th at NCAA tournament (only lost to logan and Port on the season)

to add to that ...


125: Megaludis -- he finished 2nd as a true fresh, 2nd as a true soph, and 3rd as a true junior. Had he wrestled this year, he would have been the 1st starter at PSU to not redshirt since Cael became the coach. Cael's preference is to redshirt guys as true freshmen, but he'll wrestle them as true fresh if there is a team need at the position AND the true fresh is the best in the room at the weight class.

Would Megaludis have done better this year than Conaway? Probably so, but Conaway is wrestling tomorrow in the 7th/8th match. The additional points that Nico might have won at Nationals for PSU would not have made enough of a difference to vault PSU into title contention, at least by themselves.
