Hopefully I understand the NCAA dynamics going forward and I apologize in advance if this has been discussed. Our recruiting this year has been filled with so many disappointments that i have tuned out of our recruiting. However, as I understand this is a free year for players eligibility wise but the 85 man limit remains in effect. The scholarship roster looks pretty good at every position save maybe DE. If we were loading up this year and still had the 85 man limit some really tough decisions would face the staff in the next few years. This way all of our OL get an extra year with Trautwein and our DT's get an extra year etc.
I would certainly like to have landed the big studs but if you had to pick a year to be soft in recruiting this would be it.
Having said that i hope they don't sign a group of plan B/C. let's see who develops on the OL and DL and continue to go hard after 22/23.
