Federal Investigator states PSU3/Paterno are clearly innocent.

Plus the 20 other alleged victims that Jerry wasn't even tried for.

I've brought this up before, but ask yourself this:

If the OAG had evidence of 30+ victims, I can understand why they would make a strategic decision to only prosecute 10.

But then I would expect that they would pick the 10 VERY best cases. The ones that were rock solid, with no possible way that holes could be poked in the cases.

As has been discussed on this board ad nauseum, despite the verdicts, there are some major problems with the 10 cases they brought (including 2 in which there is NO VICTIM IDENTIFIED).

So ask yourself, why did they choose those 10? I believe it is for one of two reasons:

1) Either the other allegations are nonsense (which destroys your narrative above)

or

2) They needed to anchor this story to PSU and the other 20 didn't accomplish that.

Many of the 20+ other victims came forward after Sandusky was arrested. That is typical in these cases.

Many of the 20+ other victims came forward after PSU made it clear that their checkbook was open.

That didn't prevent the OAG from adding or removing charges from what they brought to court. So there was a calculus to what they charged. Either those were their best cases (which means the others were garbage) or they wanted to make PSU look as bad as possible (which is garbage).

Why add charges when you have a slam dunk case that will put the monster away for life?

It could be typical because the alleged victims don't feel compelled to come forward until lawyers wave large sums of money in their face. Some even come forward early on to defend the accused only to turn later after lawyers send them through repressed memory therapy.

I'm convinced that JS is guilty of inappropriate behavior with children. I'm less convinced about anal and oral sex but I haven't ruled it out. I don't believe that JS was raping kids and that Joe, Schiano, Bradley, Dottie, and many others knowingly let it slide. The problem is it's difficult to separate real victims from the opportunists.

Sums up my feelings.

Or it could be typical because it helps them see that they were not the only one being abused.

Your position is that people wouldn't lie or even embellish their story in order to make an easy $3 million. Most of us disagree, especially considering that most of these "victims" come from poor families.

You suggest that some were originally embarrassed to say anything but felt more comfortable once others came forward. I don't think any of us dispute that. We suspect that it's a mixed bag. You only think in absolutes. If somebody says they were abused they're telling the truth. No questions asked. The fact that they are getting lots of money is coincidental. IMO that's a very narrow minded view.

I never said that it wouldn't happen. I think it is poor form to assume that all of the alleged victims are just liars looking for money. Even worse to attack them for it.

It is what it is. Jerry has a lot of victims one way or the other and is exactly where he belongs. In the end, God will judge the 20+ alleged victims and will make the ultimate decision. It's a fruitless task you all are taking on and it only is counter productive to PSU being able to put this scandal in the rearview mirror.

To a critical thinker, it is fair to game to assess the likelihood that anyone is lying. Cops, judges, administrators, family friends, coaches, and yes, victims. This does not mean that any of them are lying; this just mean that this HAS to be part of the evaluation of the facts.

In your world we cannot even consider the possibility that a victim is lying. Why can't you understand why that drastically biases your approach?

In my world, it's a colossal waste of time digging into something that isn't going to change. Is also wrong to label a group of people as frauds even if only one person in that group is telling the truth. And if you go the individual route, then you better damn well be sure you are right for each person you mark as being dishonest.

On this board, they are all being labeled as liars without much to back up that assertion. That's wrong.

I cannot speak for anyone else on this board, but I have never said "All of the victims are liars." But I cannot rule out that some are lying. And guess what: you can't either.

I have no idea why the idea of this uncertainty is so hard for you to accept.

Did I not just say that? Did you not read what I wrote? Yes, I cannot rule out that there are liars, but it's worthless to speculate. All it would do is hurt the alleged victims and the University.

Very few if any on this board have said that all of the victims are liars but several claims seem questionable. It appears that PSU's strategy was to pay claimants that lawyers brought forward with minimal vetting in hopes that they could put the whole thing behind them.

That seems to have been PSU's strategy from the start. Fore people, pay people, pray that it all goes away. That's been an absolutely horrible strategy. It was an admission of guilt while protecting TSM and the OGBOT. It has cost the university approximately $200 million and destroyed our reputation. It was also a breach of their fiduciary responsibility to the university.

If you think this thing is now behind us and that our reputation will soon be healed you are sorely mistaken.

People who oppose your view do so with facts. All you do is state your opinion. We know what that is so why keep posting?
Must be talking to LJL ........I've tuned that out for some time now - - - that boy be gone like yesterday.

Something just ain't right there - but it's not worth any effort to deal with it.

That's not what's happening here. People on BWI are calling them all liars. They are saying that Jerry didn't do anything. That's what's bad.

I don't know why I bother, but who are these people on BWI who are calling them "all" liars and saying that Jerry didn't do "anything". There must be a lot of these people saying that for you to get your panties in a twist about it so often. So who are they? The list must be very long, so feel free to spread it among multiple posts.

There are several people here that think Jerry molested nobody and that this is nothing more than a witch hunt. Please don't pretend that's not the case.

No one has said that. Please find the post where someone said all the victims are liars and Jerry didn't commit any acts of abuse.

Why add charges when you have a slam dunk case that will put the monster away for life?

This is BS! Their case was so weak, they had to take a quantity over quality approach. On their own merits, I can't think of a single case that was a slam dunk. They had to go to extraordinary measures to transform Jerry from creepy to monstrous, starting with the "anal intercourse' nonsense in the presentment and including the janitor case, neither of which should have gone to trial.

So what if there is? Better late than never! I'm not sure what he is at this point, but he sure as hell wasn't given the presumption of innocence he deserved. And his trial was a sham!
