Feel a little bad for Mrs. Lee...

Not gonna lie, this is the first thing I thought of when I saw the video.

This whole topic jumped back on my radar earlier today at work. A few co-workers who know I follow wrestling said they saw the video on SportsCenter over the weekend while catching up on March Madness scores. ESPN has undoubtedly given this legs it otherwise might not have had, at least outside the wrestling community.

It's not just ESPN, this thing is everywhere. My wife sent me this link

Same, I had a coworker ask me about it.

“(Ramos) was able to pin Lee at the end of the third quarter, clinching the win and ending Lee's 58-game winning streak….”

If only Spencer could have lasted another second, he might have tied it up in the fourth quarter and keep his game streak alive.

Something else that came out of the incident. Up until Lee got pinned, the only people who knew who Lee is are wrestling fans, and particularly college wrestling fans if you didn't follow HS wrestling too much. But because of the sideshow that was broadcast by ESPN, a lot of non wrestling fans now know who Lee is and they also know he got pinned going for his 4th national title. I'm guessing that the Hawks, Lee and his family aren't welcoming the added publicity.

My thoughts on Mom: She's supposed to be an expert in the martial arts(judo?). Isn't part of the training the development of some ability to retain a high degree of composure during stressful situations, at least the mental strength to, maybe, not break down completely into sobbing and destroying property? Just a thought.

There may be some opportunity for the sport to grow out of it. Not the glasses breaking -- that's the door opening.

that was a spectacular throw by Ramos. Some people think the sport is dull. That was anything but.

I don't think that publicity will hurt wrestling at all.. That was an incredible toss and upset...

Aren't we a little happy to not having to see Brands rubbing Lee's arms before the matches and ESPN making sure they were on camera all the time. When you think you are the best ever and aren't it's a giant fall to reality.
