i thought somebody did a breakdown video of this match and kadi actually steps on dakes foot to stop the throw and counter. pretty savvy move, if i remember correctly
I posted this last year: DPS Breakdowns did a nice breakdown on Kadzimahamedau's (AKA Kadimagomedov) throw of Dake at the Olympics. I made this comment in the comments section:
"There is one thing I noticed that hasn't been mentioned, and I think this was crucial in Kadi being able to expose Dake for the four point move. As Kadi was attempting the throw he momentarily stepped on Dake's right foot with his right foot (at 10:27). This prevented Dake from immediately stepping back and potentially not exposing. Given that Kadi's head was buried up against Kyle's face at that moment, I believe it was just good luck on Kadi's part, although if he could have seen Dake's foot at that moment in time I am sure he would have tried to step on it."
If anyone has any thoughts on the throw or what effect, if any, the stepping on Dake's foot had, I'd love to hear them. Thanks! Video
